Dear Republican Leader,
February is quickly proving to be an exciting month. With the Minnesota budget battle and the US Senate Recount Trial heating up, I wanted to update you on several items.
US Senate Recount Update
The U.S. Senate Recount trial is heating up with several recent rulings which will help ensure every valid vote is counted.
First, the three-judge panel has said they will allow up to 4,800 rejected absentee ballots to be reviewed for inclusion in the recount. They have also committed to ensuring every valid vote cast is counted. Several county elections officials have now testified they believe there are valid votes remaining that have not been counted. Sen. Coleman?s team remains confident that when every valid vote is counted and counted only once that he will be declared the victor.
As the recount continues, please support the effort by writing letters to the editor, calling into radio shows or posting on blogs.
Calling All Fiscal Conservatives
The Minnesota Senate and House of Representatives have organized several Budget Solutions Town Hall Meetings . It is imperative that we as fiscal conservatives show up in force to show our support to Governor Pawlenty and our Republican legislators. This is a great way for your BPOU to debate fiscal issues and have your say in the budget process.
In order to speak at one of the meeting, the Legislature is asking you to pre-register, which you can do by clicking here.
