re-posting of An Open Letter
Tim Utz,Sunlight Foundation,CHQ, The Loft,MBS, CCRKBA.GOA
From The Sunlight Foundation
Dear Sunlighter,
Here's something terrifying: Congress passed the $787 billion Stimulus Bill and we're pretty sure the people who voted on that legislation didn't actually read it. And for sure you didn't have a chance to look at it, either. That's not the first time important legislation has rushed through Congress in a matter of hours. By hurrying to vote on these bills, members of Congress might miss an earmark or tax break that could have a lasting impact on you and your community.
Congress just passed the largest piece of spending legislation in history and no one Read The Bill. Let's make sure this doesn't happen again. Demand that they Read The Bill and sign our petition now:
http://www.ReadTheBill.org/petition
Read The Bill is a commonsense solution -- we want Congress to post all bills online for 72 hours before they are debated. That gives members of Congress - and you - three days to read legislation and consider how it could potentially affect each of us in our daily lives. A 72-hour rule would also give you a chance to let your representative in Congress know what you like, or don't like, about a bill before he or she votes.
Here are some examples of bills that were passed when members of Congress only had a few hours to read each one.
-TARP bailout bill (2008): rushed through Congress with few provisions for accountability
-Housing and Economic Recovery Act of 2008: Congress' Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac bailout
-PATRIOT Act (2001): rushed through Congress and, consequently, expanded the federal government's ability to gather intelligence, engage in domestic surveillance and secret searches and detain immigrants with little restraint
Just yesterday, the House of Representatives approved a $410 billion omnibus spending bill. Unlike the Stimulus Bill, it was posted online for two days, which allowed members of Congress - and citizens, alike - to read and discuss the bill for a short period of time before it was considered in Congress. But even that is not enough. Let's remove the disparity and uncertainty that makes some bills available while others are cloaked in secrecy. Let's continue to allow everyone to Read The Bill for at least 72 hours before it is considered in Congress.
Help us urge Congress to take some time to Read the Bill-- sign our petition today.
Thank you for your time on this important matter.
Sincerely,
Ellen Miller

Do Americans have real Representation?
Auto Bailouts Will Test Representation of Americans
CHQ Blog – If the American public says one thing, and our representatives do another, do we have real representation in Washington? This question will be tested as the government decides whether to extend American automakers another $21 billion in taxpayer-backed loans. Nearly three-quarters of Americans say 'no,' but will the feds ignore us again? [read blog here]
Obama's Spending Plans Clash with Call for Fiscal Restraint

Big Brother is Watching...As We Drive
"Ok, stay with me here... I know many of you are stunned with the turn our country is taking down the path to socialism. There is massive spending of money we don't have on programs we don't need. There are unprecedented amounts of government control about to be heaped on the American citizen. From banks to automobile manufacturers to health care, the federal government is injecting itself into the lives of Americans like never before."

Misery Tour
'State legislators have concluded their 24-city "Misery Tour", otherwise known as “listening sessions.” The series of town hall-style meetings were promoted as opportunities for citizens to provide their input and ideas on Minnesota’s projected $6-7 billion budget deficit.
The reality of the so-called “listening sessions” didn’t live up to their billing. Liberal legislators critical of Governor Pawlenty’s budget help orchestrate these events to showcase the “misery” that government workers assert would result from modest cuts in state spending. The government employee’s union, AFSCME, directed their members to testify at the meetings and even told them what to say. Most legislators clearly gave government workers preference when determining who would be allowed to speak and in what order. Representative Gene Pelowski (DFL, Winona) sent an email to a long list of Winona-area government workers describing the purpose of the listening sessions as being to get testimony from affected programs in every level of government, education, health care or service impacted by the cuts suggested by the Governor’s state budget. In the email, he instructs government workers, “We would ask you to focus your comments on the impact of the Governor’s budget including what is the harm to your area of government or program. Please be as precise as possible using facts such as number of lay offs, increases in property taxes, cuts in services, increases in tuition, elimination of programs.” '

NEWS RELEASE
OBAMA LIED TO GUN OWNERS, SAYS CCRKBA; ATTACK PLAN REVEALED BY HOLDER
BELLEVUE, WA – As a presidential candidate, Barack Obama deliberately and repeatedly lied to America’s 90 million gun owners across the country when he insisted that he would not try to take away anyone’s firearms, the Citizens Committee for the Right to Keep and Bear Arms said today.
CCRKBA Chairman Alan Gottlieb, reacting to yesterday’s remarks by Obama’s Attorney General Eric Holder that the president will seek to reinstate the ban on semi-automatic firearms, said Obama “knew he was lying to the nation because his own website touted his plan to revive the gun ban and make it permanent.”
“We warned America that Obama’s ‘support’ for the Second Amendment was empty rhetoric,” he stated, “and now Holder’s disclosure has confirmed it. Obama was lying, and now gun rights may be dying.”
Several times on the campaign trail, Obama told voters “I’m not going to take your guns away.” He said it at rallies in Duryea, Pennsylvania and in Boise, Idaho. He also told a news conference that “Lawful gun owners have nothing to fearÂ…I think people can take me at my word.”
“Right now,” said Gottlieb, “I wouldn’t take Obama’s word if he said it rains a lot in Seattle. Apparently, law-abiding gun owners have nothing to fear unless they own sport-utility rifles, semiautomatic shotguns, handguns and any other firearm that Obama and his anti-gun attorney general don’t like.
“Thanks to Eric Holder, who has been far more honest than his boss about his anti-gun philosophy, it is now clear that the new president doesn’t support the Second Amendment at all,” he observed. “American gun owners should remind Democrats in Congress that the Second Amendment means what it says, especially when the president doesn’t.”

"Two Great Pro-gun Amendments In The Senate--
But Harry Reid stands in our way!
Thank you for all your activism so far!
Senator John Ensign of Nevada offered his amendment to
repeal D.C.'s draconian gun ban today."
ACTION: Contact your two Senators and urge them to vote
AGAINST cloture on S. 160 until the Senate has had an
opportunity to vote for all pro-gun amendments. As usual,
you can use the Gun Owners Legislative Action Center at
http://gunowners.org/activism.htm to send your Senators the
pre-written message below.
----- Pre-written letter -----
Dear Senator:
I urge you in the strongest terms to vote against cloture
on S. 160 until senators have had an opportunity to vote on
pro-gun amendments, such as those offered by Senators
Ensign and Thune.
The issue is not whether to give D.C. a voting
representative. The issue is whether to impose a "gag
rule" on those who oppose the District's efforts to use its
draconian gun laws to undermine gun rights in other states.
Cloture -- invoked for the cynical purpose of protecting
D.C.'s anti-gun laws and to silence other pro-gun voices --
is not a vote on D.C. representation. It is a vote against
the Second Amendment.
Please let me know you do not favor silencing pro-gun
voices. Please do not vote for cloture until those voices
are heard.
And once debate is allowed to continue, I ask that you vote
in favor of the Ensign amendment to repeal the District's
gun ban, as well as the Thune amendment for national
concealed carry reciprocity.
Sincerely,
(Place your Name, City, and State here)

From Candidate Tim Utz
The time is now to participate in the 2010 elections. The democrat political machine is in full swing with a presidential victory as the fuel, while the Republicans are attempting to repackage support. Our campaign continues forward like the Democrats.
We need your monetary support and time now as well as in 2010. On the dates below, we need your participation for a couple hours. The last gun show this year we attended at the convention center produced so many visitors to our table we could not talk to them all. During the weekend, seven folks approached our table provided contact information and wanted to know the next steps to run for state office in 2010. The public is awakening and want to get involved, the question; are we going to be around to provide a constitutional conservative choice? Our campaign efforts to attend the gun shows provide a conduit of encouragement and support.
So now, get involved with this last gun show we plan to participate. This show is the largest in the state, and held at the State Fair grounds. Pick a couple hours you can be at our table then contact our campaign. Ramona, John, Nick, or I will set you up for participating.
Best regards

What is an American
I WOULD LIKE TO PASS THIS JEWEL ON TO EACH OF YOU!!
Written by an Australian Dentist.... and too good to delete....
To Kill an American
You probably missed this in the rush of news, but there was actually a report that someone in Pakistan had published in a newspaper, an offer of a reward to anyone who killed an American, any American.
So an Australian dentist wrote an editorial the following day to let everyone know what an American is . So they would know when they found one. (Good one, mate!!!!)
'An American is English, or French, or Italian, Irish, German, Spanish, Polish, Russian or Greek. An American may also be Canadian, Mexican, African, Indian, Chinese, Japanese, Korean, Australian, Iranian, Asian, or Arab, or Pakistani or Afghan.
An American may also be a Comanche, Cherokee, Osage, Blackfoot, Navaho, Apache, Seminole or one of the many other tribes known as native Americans.
An American is Christian, or he could be Jewish, or Buddhist, or Muslim. In fact, there are more Muslims in America than in Afghanistan. The only difference is that in America they are free to worship as each of them chooses.
An American is also free to believe in no religion. For that he will answer only to God, not to the government, or to armed thugs claiming to speak for the government and for God.
An American lives in the most prosperous land in the history of the world.
The root of that prosperity can be found in the Declaration of Independence, which recognizes the God given right of each person to the pursuit of happiness.
An American is generous. Americans have helped out just about every other nation in the world in their time of need, never asking a thing in return.
When Afghanistan was over-run by the Soviet army 20 years ago, Americans came with arms and supplies to enable the people to win back their country!
As of the morning of September 11, Americans had given more than any other nation to the poor in Afghanistan Americans welcome the best of everything...the best products, the best books, the best music, the best food, the best services. But they also welcome the least.
The national symbol of America , The Statue of Liberty , welcomes your tired and your poor, the wretched refuse of your teeming shores, the homeless, tempest tossed. These in fact are the people who built America:
Some of them were working in the Twin Towers the morning of September 11, 2001 earning a better life for their families. It's been told that the World Trade Center victims were from at least 30 different countries, cultures, and first languages, including those that aided and abetted the terrorists.
So you can try to kill an American if you must. Hitler did. So did General Tojo, and Stalin, and Mao Tse-Tung, and other blood-thirsty tyrants in the world. But, in doing so you would just be killing yourself . Because Americans are not a particular people from a particular place. They are the embodiment of the human spirit of freedom. Everyone who holds to that spirit, everywhere, is an American.
Please keep this going!
Pass this around the World .
Then pass it around again.
It says it all, for all of us.

Anti-gun Land Bill Moving Again
Monday, February 23, 2009
"An alert last week asked you to urge your representative to oppose a massive land bill that was scheduled to come before the full House at any time.
The good news is that opposition to the bill grew so loud that the leadership pulled it from the calendar so they would have more time to muster enough votes to pass it.
Well, that also gives you another chance to contact your own representative to tell him to OPPOSE the anti-Second Amendment Omnibus Land Act. The bill, S. 22, is now scheduled to be voted on this week."

Freedom Works,FRC, IBD, Michelle Malkin,
Dear Weston,
Last week you may have seen or perhaps heard about CNBC’s Rick Santelli and his report from the floor of the Chicago Mercantile Exchange, ground zero for American capitalism and free market commerce, where he called for a “Taxpayer Tea Party” in the wake of efforts to enact a new, multi-billion dollar taxpayer funded housing bailout.
If you are like me, you stood up and cheered.
Rick was channeling what so many limited government advocates have been feeling now for a long time when it comes to out-of-control spending on the backs of hardworking U.S. taxpayers to reward the irresponsible and the corrupt: enough is enough!
Whether it’s this latest housing bailout bill (the second in less than six months), a bailout for the auto-industry or failed banks, the more than $1 trillion sham of a “stimulus” bill, or the $400 billion omnibus spending bill that Congress is now debating, Americans are sick and tired of their hard-earned money being thrown around. In just the last few weeks, FreedomWorks has been contacted by volunteers within the ranks of our own membership (a nationwide network of hundreds of thousands of activists) that want to take to the streets in mass protest to this big government bonanza.
And FreedomWorks is answering the call with a new website, IamWithRick.com. True to its name, the site features the video of Rick on the floor of the Chicago Exchange and seeks to enlist those concerned taxpayers who want to go to the Taxpayer Tea Party that he talked about this summer in Chicago. In addition, FreedomWorks is also helping to organize other tea party protests in cities around the country. Currently, we have events planned in Chicago, Washington, DC, Atlanta, Philadelphia, Fort Myers, Orlando, Greenville, SC and cities across North Carolina.
We need your help to make these events a success. Go to IamWithRick.com, sign up and select one or more of the tea parties that you would like to attend or help us to organize. Also, please consider making a generous contribution to our tea party effort. Your contribution will help us recruit more taxpayers to attend our tea party protests, making them more effective.
Nancy Pelosi, Harry Reid, and the new Obama Administration are running the bailout train full steam ahead towards the destruction of our American capitalist system and ultimately to outright socialism. They must be stopped!
Join FreedomWorks at our taxpayer tea parties taking place all over the country. Visit IamWithRick.com today!
Sincerely,
Dick Armey
Chairman
FreedomWorks.org
PS: Please consider making a generous contribution to help us pay for our efforts to organize tea parties across the country. With your help we can send a message loud and clear to President Obama and Congress that we are not going to accept their outrageous actions that are bankrupting our country.
Family Research Council
With the 24 news-cycle, myriad cable news programs and the liberal bias of the main stream media, we know it can be a daunting task to stay current on all that's happening in our nation and world. It goes without saying that much of what makes the "news" isn't really newsworthy, and much that is newsworthy goes unnoticed by traditional news sources. This is especially true of news that relates to faith, family and freedom.
To help bridge this gap, Family Research Council created Tony Perkins' Washington Update. This free daily email provides a concise wrap up of the day's top news stories with an emphasis on those that impact our families. Disgraced Democratic Sen. John Edwards was right about one thing: There are two Americas. One America is full of moochers, big and small, corporate and individual, trampling over themselves with their hands out demanding endless bailouts. The other America is full of disgusted, hardworking citizens getting sick of being played for chumps and punished for practicing personal responsibility.
Now is the time for all good taxpayers to turn the tables on free-lunching countrymen and their enablers in Washington. Community organizing helped propel Barack Obama to the White House. It can work for fiscal conservatism, too.
Make it a good day!.

February is quickly proving to be an exciting month. With the Minnesota budget battle and the US Senate Recount Trial heating up, I wanted to update you on several items.
US Senate Recount Update
The U.S. Senate Recount trial is heating up with several recent rulings which will help ensure every valid vote is counted.
First, the three-judge panel has said they will allow up to 4,800 rejected absentee ballots to be reviewed for inclusion in the recount. They have also committed to ensuring every valid vote cast is counted. Several county elections officials have now testified they believe there are valid votes remaining that have not been counted. Sen. Coleman?s team remains confident that when every valid vote is counted and counted only once that he will be declared the victor.
As the recount continues, please support the effort by writing letters to the editor, calling into radio shows or posting on blogs.
Calling All Fiscal Conservatives
The Minnesota Senate and House of Representatives have organized several Budget Solutions Town Hall Meetings . It is imperative that we as fiscal conservatives show up in force to show our support to Governor Pawlenty and our Republican legislators. This is a great way for your BPOU to debate fiscal issues and have your say in the budget process.
In order to speak at one of the meeting, the Legislature is asking you to pre-register, which you can do by clicking here.

Rep.Kohl proposes State Spending Freeze
Launches Web site for Minnesotans to express their support
SAINT PAUL -- In anticipation of Thursday's budget forecast, Representative Paul Kohls (R- Victoria) today announced an effort to freeze overall state General Fund spending in the budget that the Legislature will pass next year. The General Fund spending freeze would limit spending to $34.6 billion - the amount being spent in the current biennium - or the amount of revenue projected in the forecast, whichever is less.
"Everyone is predicting a significant deficit, maybe as much as several billion dollars," Kohls said. "These deficits are largely a result of increased spending commitments made by previous Legislatures without regard to the fact that taxpayers cannot afford them."

MN Town Hall Meeting, Screening Obama,
The MN House is holding a town hall meeting (seeking commentary on the state budget) in Minneapolis on the same date as our Full Committee meeting. It is important that the Republican perspective is heard on this. I am therefore delaying the start time of our meeting until 8:00 PM to allow members to attend the town meeting.
Here is the date and time information on the town hall meeting:
Tuesday, February 24th - 6:00 p.m.

DOCTRINE AIR DEMOCRACY
American Spectator Screening Obama by the Prowler
Senior FCC staff working for acting Federal Communications Commissioner Michael Copps held meetings last week with policy and legislative advisers to House Energy and Commerce Committee Chairman Henry Waxman to discuss ways the committee can create openings for the FCC to put in place a form of the "Fairness Doctrine" without actually calling it such.
Waxman is also interested, say sources, in looking at how the Internet is being used for content and free speech purposes. "It's all about diversity in media," says a House Energy staffer, familiar with the meetings. "Does one radio station or one station group control four of the five most powerful outlets in one community? Do four stations in one region carry Rush Limbaugh, and nothing else during the same time slot? Does one heavily trafficked Internet site present one side of an issue and not link to sites that present alternative views? These are some of the questions the chairman is thinking about right now, and we are going to have an FCC that will finally have the people in place to answer them."
Copps will remain acting chairman of the FCC until President Obama's nominee, Julius Genachowski, is confirmed, and Copps has been told by the White House not create "problems" for the incoming chairman by committing to issues or policy development before the Obama pick arrives.
But Copps has been a supporter of putting in place policies that would allow the federal government to have greater oversight over the content that TV and radio stations broadcast to the public, and both the FCC and Waxman are looking to licensing and renewal of licensing as a means of enforcing "Fairness Doctrine" type policies without actually using the hot-button term "Fairness Doctrine."
One idea Waxman's committee staff is looking at is a congressionally mandated policy that would require all TV and radio stations to have in place "advisory boards" that would act as watchdogs to ensure "community needs and opinions" are given fair treatment. Reports from those advisory boards would be used for license renewals and summaries would be reviewed at least annually by FCC staff.

Economic Edge...The looming collapse of European Banking
We now have the evidence to prove that the "listening sessions" on Minnesota's budget deficit are really just a sham. These so-called "listening sessions" are actually carefully orchestrated events designed to provide political cover for legislators who are trying to defend out-of-control state spending and advocate for increasing your taxes.
"Tax and spend" lawmakers are encouraging government workers and beneficiary recipients to "testify" against proposed budget cuts. We have intercepted an email sent by Rep. Gene Pelowski (DFL, Winona) to a number of government officials in his district requesting their attendance at a "listening session" encouraging them to present specific facts designed to support his political agenda. "We would ask you to focus your comments on the impact of the Governor's budget including what is the harm to your area of government or program," says Pelowski's email.
Attendees at the first meetings which were held last night had this to say about the so-called "listening sessions":
* This was not a "community meeting," about 90% of the speakers worked for and/or received benefits from state government programs.
* I listened to 38 speakers; about 75% were advocates for "no cuts in government programs" and/or "raise taxes."
* Only three people spoke in favor of "cutting spending" and "no new taxes".
* The composition of the crowd, and by extension, the content of the speeches, was what it was because the people who aren't current employees or beneficiaries of the state programs were not at the meeting.
* Now the legislators that attended the hearing will be able to go back and say that they heard over and over again that Minnesotans want to maintain existing government programs and are open to tax increases.
TAKE ACTION
We still need DOZENS of concerned taxpayers to SHOW-UP and SPEAK-OUT at these "listening sessions." If you fail to act, you can be assured of the outcome -- higher taxes for you and your family. Here's what you need to do.

An Open Letter to the American People
One day very soon, you may well wake up and realize the United States of America; the Constitutional Republic is dead.
Maybe you will not even understand the significance of this happening; you’ll take a passing interest that something is different, shrug your shoulders, and go on with your daily routine.
Maybe you are one of the true believers that will rejoice that your dream of destroying the Constitution has finally come true and you believe that a secular, government run peace and tranquility will now reign on earth. Maybe with your special brand of purposeful ignorance you will continue to blame the victims of your folly. You will have my full, unadulterated pity and prayers.
Maybe you won’t even notice. You too have my pity.
Writing this letter makes me sad for a large segment of humanity, they are at odds with their own survival instincts. Because of our shallowness, weakness, laziness, addictions, tolerance of evil, cowardice, cupidity, our gullibility to propaganda, our ignorance of history, our short sightedness and even shorter memory the “Great Experiment” may nearly be finished.
Maybe we have to destroy ourselves again and again before we will finally get it!
Maybe man must enslave and enslave and be enslaved by his fellow man before we finally get it through our heads and into our genetic make up, what the abhorrent permutations of slavery looks, sounds, and smells like. Thus instinctively know how to avoid it.
Maybe we will come to understand that history doesn’t start when we are born (Rush-ism), so we must make an effort to learn and understand history so we don’t continuously make the same mistakes. Maybe we could learn the difference between slavery and liberty.
But then the permutations of Totalism preclude this ability to learn, right from the get go, because Totalism is not truth driven, but politically driven. Totalists are addicted to the point of dementia, to a fantasy world where their belief falsely sees reality changed to their whims not the other way around. If what they do isn’t true, constructive or real, it doesn’t matter! Because they are off almost instantly to the next whim, the last one forgotten, just a bad dream, as if they have A.D.D. It is in the finest tradition of Fascism; it is the action no matter what it is, no matter what the outcome, which is important. It is a concrete definition of insanity.
We are at war psychologically (we have been for around 100 years-did you know this?) and most people walk through life in ‘condition white’. Oblivious to the danger that surrounds them, hell, even contributing to it. I repeat a psychological war, but you must understand that the consequences of this war are, as real, as if a foreign enemy with guns and bombs invaded us. Infrastructure will be destroyed. Knowledge of liberty principled government may well be gone and humanity will suffer greatly. And the innocent victims will be blamed for the destruction. And persecuted even more, at the hands of people who have in essence given up their humanity for the delusional opiate and worship of power over others.
Government has enslaved and killed incalculably more people than were affected by the civilian slave owners in early America. Take a look at the casualties of the war that presumably ended slavery in this country. Nearly a million killed and maimed by two factions of government; the people wanting to maintain slavery as proper (Democrats and those that saw it for the evil it is (Republicans).
Yet the descendants of those very slaves vote overwhelmingly for the very type of government people whose lunatic mentality has always destroyed life, love, and truth for their own ill purposes; the Democrat Party. And this destruction is done with almost total immunity from responsibility for the suffering caused. Totalism is not truth driven, but politically driven; Totalists lie with the natural ease of breathing.
So why do people vote this way? Any number of reasons, here are just a few:
1) They vote this way because they want so desperately to believe in fairy tales, and don’t even know that the fairy tales are twisted. In other words they are a lie. But they would rather stay purposefully ignorant than confront their beliefs, thus their poor investment in their self-worth. This way they don’t have to take responsibility for their own life.
2) Their benefactors/masters purposely and selectively left more than a few facts out of their education, to get them to do what they want them to do. For instance, the idea that stealing is wrong. Stealing is wrong for government, as much as, for anyone else. That governments can and do easily enslave people because of it’s very nature, it is the gift of stupid brute force. A right is not something that encroaches on someone else's rights and is not a redress of grievance or retribution, but the Totalist will tell you it is.
3) They have received stolen goods (bribery): and thus becomes part of the gang or group because they feel they owe their allegiance. This is a huge reason. It is part of our human nature to reciprocate when given something. Even if we are aware of this fact, we will often do it anyway, so imagine if one doesn’t know this is the way we are wired.
4) Brand Loyalty: The voter’s grandparents and parents voted Democrat, back when they were still somewhat the loyal opposition, so they vote Democrat just because… No matter that the Democrat Party is dead and gone, replaced by the immoral-mutt Totalist Party. Lead by fools who, not only, refuse to take their sacred oaths seriously, but not much of anything else either. Except their own superiority and separateness from us, the “nattering class” Shut the Hell up Chuck Schumer! This is the classic embodiment of aristocracy, which is the last thing our Founding Fathers wanted for us here in the U.S. And is the last thing we want here.
5) The false definition of fairness pushed chokingly down our throats by Totalists the world over. According to the Merriam-Webster’s 11th Collegiate Dictionary, one of the synonyms of fairness is objectivity. The pro Big Government’s destructive, brainwashing definition is the exact opposite! It is subjective. The synonym being: unobjective! (At this point I would like to make a recommendation. Get a dictionary if you don’t have one. Use it! You will be amazed at what words really mean. Also be aware that these same types of Totalists are working to redefine even the meaning of words through their agents in academe. So you might have to get an older version as time goes by to be accurate.) Stalin knew that he that controls the language… controls. So do you want that control in the hands of people whose deciding fulcrum is slavery or liberty?
The lists of ways, we of reason and liberty, are attacked goes on and on, but hopefully you get the idea.
It is not that most voters are stupid, quite the contrary, but immoral thugs that take full advantage of their fears, ignorance and desires can seriously mislead them.
This is why I maintain that there are only two reasons to vote Democrat any more. You are simply and blissfully, enraptured in ignorance of whose bed you crawled into, or you are a believer true, in that the proper way for man to live is as a slave.
We must look at these two choices and not dismiss them out of hand. I know this may well be a tough thing to do for those who consider themselves moderates and Democrats. But the future of our children, our country, and the world depends on your answer. You must ask your self do the public and political choices I make, enrich, improve and secure my liberty at no expense to others? Or am I actually an agent of destruction. Do I even know the difference? If you don’t know, find out. Do I even know what liberty is? Do I know the purpose of our Constitution and why?
The common man in this country are a not enemies. We are not all that different, but we all need to understand what this America really is. And real Americans do not believe in slavery, do you? I sincerely hope you find out before that is the only choice left open.

Jury: Rancher did not violate Mexicans' rights
Jerry Seper (Contact)
Tuesday, February 17, 2009
A federal jury on Tuesday afternoon ruled that an Arizona rancher did not violate the civil rights of 16 Mexican nationals he detained at gunpoint after they had snuck illegally into the United States in 2004, but the jury awarded $78,000 in actual and punitive damages to six of the illegal immigrants on claims of assault and infliction of emotional distress.
After a nine-day trial, the eight-person jury -- four men and four women -- returned the verdict in U.S. District Court in Tucson, Ariz., after a day and a half of deliberation, also tossing charges of false imprisonment, battery and conspiracy against Douglas, Ariz., rancher Roger Barnett. Most of the award, about $60,000, was for punitive damages.
Mr. Barnett's attorney, David T. Hardy of Tucson, described the decision as an "80 percent victory," adding that he wished he and his client "would have gotten the other 20 percent." But he said he would appeal the decision, citing what he called "solid grounds." He also said U.S. District Judge John M. Roll had been "scrupulously fair" during the landmark trial.
Mr. Barnett owns the Cross Rail Ranch near Douglas, Ariz., where he maintains cattle on 22,000 acres of private and leased land. A $32 million lawsuit, brought by the Mexican American Legal Defense and Education Fund (MALDEF), sought damages for civil rights violations and the infliction of emotional distress. It also accuses Mr. Barnett of assault, battery and false imprisonment.
Also named were Mr. Barnett's wife, Barbara, and his brother, Donald, although the jury dismissed the allegations against both the wife and the brother.
The trial was based on a March 7, 2004, incident in which Mr. Barnett approached a group of illegal immigrants while carrying a gun and accompanied by his dog.

Legislative Report #13
680 bills and more to come
As of today, the Minnesota Legislature has introduced 680 bills. The latest *bill HF680, is anticipating hundreds of millions or perhaps billions of federal dollars sent to Minnesota. Anticipating a handout from the Federal government seems foolish. The federal government continues to squander all revenue and continues spending future generation’s income. With the latest stimulus package, expect over $2,000,000,000,000.00 federal budget debt this year. Any check congress issues to Minnesota becomes a bad check issued on our grandchildren’s working backs.
Another question we need to consider is why 680 bills? Minnesota is facing a financial Tsunami and to date the 680 bills include.
1. Millions for development of light rail North, South, and East of the Minneapolis/Saint Paul area.
2. Universal state run, non-competitive healthcare ** (HF135) costing $30,000,000,000.00 to $50,000,000,000.00 annually.
3. The Minnesota Miracle *** (HF138), including an education funding formula revision, indexing for inflation and a 37% $2,500,000,000.00 overall increase in K-12 education funding.
4. Millions in new bonding for Arts and wildlife programs for costs that are covered under the new Constitutional amendment.
5. A further striping of personal liberties using primary seatbelt law, additional child restraint laws, and **** (HF616) forcing medical support of abortion.
I see very little Legislative understanding of our current economic stress or budget shortfall when reviewing the proposed bills to date. Increased spending, expanding programs, and starting new initiatives show disregard for Minnesota current economic condition.

Bonding to pay interest
The Republican governor Pawlenty is proposing in his budget to *bond $1,062,000,000.00 and proposes to repay this bond with revenue from the tobacco settlement funds. The problem with repayment with tobacco settlement is those funds are not available. The tobacco income directly deposited into the state general fund now and spent on other programs.
The purpose of the 20-year bond is to help balance the 2010-2011 biennium state budgets. The state has $4.7 billion in outstanding bonds in addition $2,700,000,000.00 in authorized bonds not issued yet but committed. In the next biennium, Minnesota is obligated for over $900,000,000.00 in interest and payments on the $4.7 Billion issued bonds.
The Governors plan is similar to an individual using a VISA card to make payments on other credit cards like the Master Card, American Express, and Discover cards. Even more disturbing is the idea we should accept spending another $600,000,000.00 in interest on interest with this bond request. If approved, the issue of such a bond has no actual production, investment or tangible brick and mortar projects, just more spending, debt, and delayed accountability.

Legislative Report #15
Indexing for K12 Education
*HF02 and 138 the “Minnesota Miracle” K-12 education bills have an indexing clause included. Indexing provides inflation protection to budgets similar to an annual raise someone receives from an employer to offset the effects of inflation. Education in Minnesota expects revenue protection from inflation and thus includes indexing in formulas for funding.
Below is an example of how indexing state expenditures for K-12 education can affect a budget. If we apply a 4%, inflation to the next biennium K-12 education would receive a $542,395,200.00 automatic funding increase by 2012.
FY 2010 state spending on K-12 education
$6,647,000,000.00 multiply by inflation of
3.5% automatic increase of $232,635,000.00 $44.74 per every man, woman and child in Minnesota
4% automatic increase of $265,880,000.00 $51.13 per every man, woman and child in Minnesota
5% automatic increase of $332,350,000.00 $63.91 per every man, woman and child in Minnesota
In FY 2011, $6,912,880,000.00 from FY 2010 plus 4% inflation equals $276,515,200.00 resulting in a spending level going into the next biennium of $7,189,395,200.00 for K-12 education. In addition, HF02 and 138 include about $2,500,000,000.00 of spending increase over inflation. Under HF02 and 138 and only a 4% inflation rate Minnesota is committing $9,689,395,200.00 or $1,863.35 per every man, woman and child in Minnesota on K-12 education in 2012, a 45.5% increase in just 2 years.

Legislative update #17
Universal Healthcare
The Senate held a 3-hour hearing on *SF0118, Universal Healthcare for Minnesota, on Wednesday 2/10/09 in the State Capital Building. People gave testimony, both pro and con, in the filled to capacity room.
Campaign Committee for Constitutional Republicans is opposed to this legislation for the following reasons
1. The constitution of Minnesota, the document dictating government authority, prohibits State Government from controlling or manipulating a healthcare program.
2. No one has a clue the annual cost of SF0118 to taxpayers and citizens, including *John Marty the bills chief author. A plan to study the cost of SF0118 (companion in House is HF135) is costing $300,000.00 of taxpayer’s money. Some discussion concluded a general cost of $35,000,000,000.00 to $50,000,000,000.00 a year to operate Universal Healthcare in Minnesota.
3. Government has no capacity to operate a healthcare system. State government has authorization to facilitate solutions between groups on state matters. Revising Minnesota’s healthcare system could be a proper function for state to facilitate corrective healthcare measures.
4. The federal government has started a national Universal Healthcare, the first phase buried in the just passed Economic Stimulus package.
5. Healthcare has national problems, government dictation of coverage’s; locations of hospitals are just a few government actions contributing to a failed healthcare system. Further government control or intervention could only compound the breakdown of medical services in America.
In conclusion, instead of finding solutions to solving a $7,000,000,000.00 budget shortfall, Carolyn Laine has chosen to ***support HF135 a destructive Government controlled noncompetitive healthcare bill. It appears Carolyn considers “governance” to be expanding state government by 250%, and sending state spending into the stratosphere.
Minnesota Legislators need to focus real “governance” on the issue at hand “BALANCE THE STATE BUDGET”.

Legislative Update #18
Federal Debt
For folks asleep the last year and a half or so Congress, both Bush and now Obama continue spending our grandchildren’s futures. In the last year alone Congress has quietly raised the Federal debt limit 3 times. The third time is occurring now with the passage of an $800,000,000,000.00 economic stimulus package. And yes billions of this spending is coming to Minnesota and bailing out our state spending irresponsibility.
The section posted below, buried within the 1080 page stimulus bill. The federal government is broke, and Congress is increasingly depending on bond sales to institutions, private investors, foreign governments, national banks, and fund managers from all over the world, and even some Americans to bail out federal spending.
With the passage of the stimulus package Congress authorizes federal debt to reach $12,140,000,000,000.00 or $36,787.00 for each man woman and child in America.
H.R.1
American Recovery and Reinvestment Act of 2009 (Public Print)
SEC. 1902. INCREASE IN PUBLIC DEBT LIMIT.
Subsection (b) of section 3101 of title 31, United States Code, is amended by striking out the dollar limitation contained in such subsection and inserting `$12,140,000,000,000'.

Democrats Thwart Attempt to Improve Election Integrity in Minnesota
Yesterday Democrats in the House Government Operations Committee killed the Photo ID bill (HF57). This common sense measure would have required the presentation of a government-issued photographic identification when voting. It included a provision to provide a free identification card to any eligible voter who does not currently have a photo ID. It would have resulted in bringing greater integrity and public confidence in our election system.
Although polls show this bill has 80% public support, these so-called "representatives" killed the bill in committee. They claim that the law would have "disenfranchised" the poor and the elderly. But numerous studies from states that have implemented similar laws prove this is not the case.
Over the past several months, Minnesota Majority has uncovered mountains of evidence suggesting problems in our current election system. However, these "representatives" have chosen to simply "look the other way". It seems they want to perpetuate a system that invites error and abuse because they believe it to be to their political advantage. The real people being "disenfranchised" in our elections are legitimate voters whose votes are being undermined by errors and abuse.

Operation Support Barnett
"An Arizona man who has waged a 10-year campaign to stop a flood of illegal immigrants from crossing his property is being sued by 16 Mexican nationals who accuse him of conspiring to violate their civil rights when he stopped them at gunpoint on his ranch on the U.S.-Mexico border."

I'm listening to the local AM radio station and during their news break they tell of the overwhelming victory in the house for the stimulus bill- NO mention of GOP opposition, so Joe Average just figures, “Oh, good deal- everybody’s happy”

This was the goal. This was how they set the conditions for victory. This is how they won. Welcome to the “revolution”, I’m afraid.

For Immediate Release
Issued Today:
CCHC Report on Economic Stimulus & Patient Rights
Part 1: National Health Surveillance
Minneapolis/Saint Paul – The Citizens' Council on Health Care (CCHC) has just issued Part 1 of a new patient rights publication, "Economic Stimulus" & Patient Rights Report. The report will highlight the infringements of patient and privacy rights in the economic stimulus bill that will be voted on today by Congress.
Twila Brase, president of CCHC and author of the report, provides the following statement:
"The economic stimulus bill will infringe on longstanding patient and privacy rights.
"Private medical information will soon become part of a new national health surveillance system - essentially one big government database of medical records. Surprisingly, the bill will even allow private medical data to be bought and sold.
"The public needs to know that they won't be able to stay out of the national health surveillance system. They need to know that they will not have the right to shield their private medical history by having more than one medical record. By 2014, patient's private data will be linked together into one single comprehensive online medical record.
"The doctor's office could soon be viewed as a national data collection center, not a clinic of confidential care.
"We are looking at the end of patient privacy rights in America. We may also be looking at the beginning of patients using innovative and potentially harmful strategies to evade surveillance. They will do all they can do to protect their own medical privacy.
"How does Congress think this will improve health care quality?"

Legislative Report #13
680 bills and more to come
As of today, the Minnesota Legislature has introduced 680 bills. The latest *bill is anticipating hundreds of millions or perhaps billions of federal dollars sent to Minnesota.
1. Millions for development of light rail North South and East of the Minneapolis/Saint Paul area.
2. Universal state run, non-competitive healthcare costing $30,000,000,000.00 to $50,000,000,000.00 annually.
3. The Minnesota Miracle, including an education funding formula revision, indexing for inflation and a 30% $2,500,000,000.00 overall increase in K-12 education funding.
4. Millions in new bonding for Arts and wildlife programs for costs that are covered under the new Constitutional amendment.
5. A further striping of personal liberties using primary seatbelt law, additional child restraint laws, and forcing medical support of abortion.
I see very little Legislative understanding of our current economic stress or budget shortfall when reviewing the proposed bills to date. Increased spending, expanding programs, and starting new initiatives show disregard for Minnesota current economic condition.

Legislative report #14
Bonding to pay interest
The Republican governor Pawlenty is proposing in his budget to bond $1,062,000,000.00. The purpose of this 20-year bond is to help balance the 2010-2011 biennium state budgets. The state has $4.7 billion in outstanding bonds in addition $2,700,000,000.00 in authorized bonds not issued yet but waiting for approval. In the next biennium, Minnesota is obligated for over $900,000,000.00 in interest and payments on those issued bonds.
The Governors plan is similar to an individual using a VISA card to make payments on other credit cards like the Master Card, American Express, and Discover cards. Even more disturbing is the idea we should accept spending another $600,000,000.00 in interest on interest with this bond request. The result is no actual production, investment or tangible brick and mortar projects from this bond, just more spending, debt, and delayed accountability.

Indexing for K12 Education
HF 02 the “Minnesota Miracle” K-12 education bill has an indexing clause included. Indexing provides inflation protection to budgets similar to an annual raise someone receives from an employer to offset the effects of inflation. Education in Minnesota expects revenue protection from inflation and thus includes indexing in formulas for funding.
Below is an example of how indexing state expenditures on K-12 education can affect a budget. If we apply a 4%, inflation to the next biennium K-12 education would receive a $542,395,200.00 automatic funding increase in 2012.
Also, remember HF 02 includes about $2,500,000,000.00 spending increase over inflation. Under HF 02 and only a 4% inflation rate Minnesota is committing $9,689,395,200.00 or $1,863.35 per every man, woman and child in Minnesota on K-12 education in 2012, a 45.5% increase in just 2 years.
