We need you to host a house party. We have 51 43 35 30 22 15 days remaining to win this election. Get the message out; invite your neighbors over for a cheese and crackers party and contact our web site.
Last week when we requested 15 volunteers about nine came. However, short of our need we all had a blast working hard and debating the political events of the day. There is plenty of agreeing to disagree but we all love our country and want to keep America free.
Get involved, contact us with a phone number, and attend the events listed above. Join our group as we travel the district. In addition, talk with your neighbors. Not all folks will agree but spread our campaign message to everyone in the district. Give our website to them at www.timutzforhouse.com.
We still need stamps, go on line today and make a donation stop by our office or mail a check today.
We have 50-yard signs on order, thanks to the contributors. No additional contributions received this week for additional signs. Today we are picking up the 50-yard signs we ordered last week and have 40 requests for those signs. In addition, we need 30 signs for Election Day and 30 now for main travel routes around the district. Short money but plenty of support, this is a good problem.

A "No'' vote on state referendum
October 19, 2008
There will be plenty of politicians on the ballot when Minnesota voters go to
the polls Nov. 4, but the fate of a proposed amendment to the state Constitution
may have more of an impact on how they will govern in the years ahead than any
of their campaign promises.
The Clean Water, Land and Legacy Amendment would increase the sales tax
three-eighths of 1 percent beginning in July and lasting 25 years. It would
raise an estimated $271 million annually for clean water projects (33 percent of
the funds); game, fish and wildlife habitat (33 percent); arts and cultural
projects (19.75 percent); and parks and trails (14.25 percent). And it would
cost the average Minnesota household about $56 a year.
Investing in preserving and protecting these essential resources has merit. But
passing a constitutional amendment that dedicates funding subverts another of
our valuable assets: good governance, via representative democracy. Accordingly,
the Star Tribune votes "No'' on the referendum.
Moving Minnesota toward a system of constitutional amendments to formulate
funding would lock legislators and the governor into budgetary decisions that
they are elected -- and paid -- to make. And with an anticipated recession and
the resulting revenue shortfall expected over the next biennium, it will be more
important than ever for elected officials to make the tough calls.
If the amendment is successful, it increases the likelihood that other worthy
causes will line up to try to circumvent the legislative process and appeal
directly for funding. This could result in the kind of government gridlock
experienced in states such as California. And it would give elected officials
less flexibility to address budgetary challenges in areas such as education and
public safety.
The Legislature had to approve the amendment being placed on the ballot. That
shows that members of both parties recognize the merits of the funding goals.
Indeed, for a state whose name derives from the Dakota word for sky-tinted water
and whose license plate boasts 10,000 lakes, we certainly seem to be blas about
protecting our natural resources. Recent estimates suggest that 40 percent of
state waters meet federal water-quality standards, and only about 16 percent of
the bodies of water in the state have been tested.
If the governor and legislators believe Minnesota's water quality -- as well as
the other projects the amendment would fund -- is worthy of increased funding,
let them make those decisions at the Capitol. Conversely, if they agree on the
goals but find new fees or taxes too toxic, they will have to live with that
choice. Either way, they ultimately will have to face the voters.
A "No" vote may delay implementation of the amendment's objectives, but it
doesn't kill them. Minnesotans should preserve and protect the representative
model of governing. And those who support the amendment's goals should go to
work appealing to and electing leaders who will preserve and protect the state's
natural and artistic resources.

For clean water, but opposed to this amendment Pioneer Press
TwinCities.com-Pioneer Press Article Last Updated:10/18/2008 04:49:01 PM CDT
We oppose the attempt to raise Minnesota's sales tax and devote the new money to
the environment and the arts. We cannot see the future and we do not know what
challenges Minnesota will face. Locking in spending through the state
Constitution, as this proposal does, reduces the state's ability to respond to
those unknown problems.
That is our beef with a constitutional amendment voters will face on the Nov. 4
ballot. It asks if the Minnesota Constitution should be amended to increase the
6.5 percent statewide sales tax by three-eighths of 1 percent and to "dedicate"
that new money for these initiatives:
To "protect our drinking water sources."
To "protect, enhance and restore our wetlands, prairies, forests and fish,
game and wildlife habitat."
To "preserve our arts and cultural heritage.''
To "support our parks and trails.''
To "restore our lakes, rivers, streams and groundwater.''
These are important goals. We support all of them although not with the same
intensity. And we do not shy from tax hikes when needed. We have supported tax
increases for the new Twins stadium and for transportation and transit. We
respect the good people behind this effort, including outgoing state Rep. Dennis
Ozment, R-Rosemount, whose passion for Minnesota's natural bounty is
unquestioned.
Ozment makes a strong case that clean water and wildlife habitat are so central
to the state's identity, so vulnerable to the encroachments of society, and so
completely irreplaceable, that this extraordinary means of constitutional
protection is warranted.
That case was weakened when the Legislature added arts and cultural heritage
funding to the mix. This was a case of piling the load too high, what the
legislators call "loving it to death.'' Arts programs can certainly make a case
for state funding, but they are not irreplaceable in the sense that our lakes
and wetlands are. Plus, a theater or a museum has the added burden of proving
its worth in the marketplace.
We have inquired into the plans for accomplishing these laudable environmental
goals. It is difficult to get a handle on how new money will repair a body of
water whose degradation may stem from uses throughout a vast watershed.
Complexity is not a fatal flaw in itself, but taxpayers deserve better
explanations that directly link the new money to a more pristine state.
We do not join in the anti-tax bashers who, in trying to win today's debate,
undermine support in a government that we all need. We cannot support the
constitutional amendment this year. But we believe Minnesotans value their
lakes, rivers, wetlands and forests, and their prairies and wildlife habitat,
and want the state to protect them. That effort must continue no matter what
happens at the polls on Nov. 4.

Our state government has failed to live within our means. Minnesota is facing a major budget deficit and lawmakers will now be forced to either cut spending or raise taxes.
In the last election, many candidates assured us that tax increases weren't on the table, only then to raise our taxes once in office. Let's not be fooled again this year by empty campaign promises.
We have helped create a new website at www.LiveWithinOurMeans.com where candidates can prove their commitment to putting spending cuts ahead of raising our taxes. During these difficult economic times when most of us must tighten our belts and live within our means, why can't we expect the same from our state government?
TAKE ACTION
Visit www.LiveWithinOurMeans.com to see if candidates in your district (district number 50A) have signed the commitment. If they have not, send them a message asking them to sign the "Live Within Our Means" commitment form. Then be sure to vote on Tuesday, November 4th for the candidate that best represents your values.

ACT For America wrote
The article below was written by Kenneth Timmerman, President and director of the Middle East Data Project. He has authored a number of books including Countdown to Crisis: the Coming Nuclear Showdown in Iran. For his work in exposing the Islamic Republic of Iran's nuclear weapons program, he was nominated for the 2006 Nobel Peace Prize. Mr. Timmerman is also a member of the Board of Advisors of our sister organization, American Congress for Truth.
Timmerman's article reveals extremely disturbing evidence that foreign nationals from the Muslim world are trying to influence our presidential election through illegal contributions to the Barack Obama campaign. We're not talking a few dollars here. As Timmerman notes, the Federal Election Commission has compiled a list of questionable foreign contributions totaling nearly $34,000,000! We urge you to read the entire article.
The "mainstream media" has virtually ignored this issue, in spite of the many, many news reports coming out of the Middle East and Muslim world that document the strong support Barack Obama has there. On WABC radio, April 13, 2008, Ahmed Yousef, political advisor for the Hamas terrorist organization, said "We like Mr. Obama and hope that he will win the election..." There have been reports that Hamas was running phone banks into the U.S. during the Democratic nomination campaign urging American Muslims to vote for Obama.
It's bad enough that billions in Saudi money have been spent to set up Middle East studies programs on American college campuses that indoctrinate students in a whitewashed, sanitized version of Islam that covers up its violent history and the supremacist doctrines of political Islam.
Have we reached a point where petro-dollars in the hands of Muslim foreign nationals are trying to buy a presidential election as well? Whether one supports Obama or McCain is not the issue. If there's evidence of massive amounts of foreign contributions to McCain, we'll report that.
The issue is we are Americans first, and the prospect of foreign nationals trying to illegally influence our election process should be something that every American should oppose and want exposed, regardless of political party affiliation or candidate preference.

SADLY, THIS IS SO VERY, VERY TRUE

London Times Obituary
An Obituary printed in the London Times..
Interesting and sadly rather true.
'Today we mourn the passing of a beloved old
friend, Common Sense, who has been with us for many
years. No one knows for sure how old he was, since his
birth records were long ago lost in bureaucratic red
tape.
He will be remembered as having cultivated such
valuable lessons as: Knowing when to come in out of
the rain; why the early bird gets the worm; Life isn't
always fair; and maybe it was my fault.
Common Sense lived by simple, sound financial
policies (don't spend more than you can earn) and
reliable strategies (adults, not children, are in
charge).
His health began to deteriorate rapidly when
well-intentioned but overbearing regulations were set
in place. Reports of a 6-year-old boy charged with
sexual harassment for kissing a classmate; teens
suspended from school for using mouthwash after
lunch; and a teacher fired for reprimanding an unruly
student,only worsened his condition.
Common Sense lost ground when parents attacked
teachers for doing the job that they themselves had
failed to do in disciplining their unruly children.
It declined even further when schools were required
to get parental consent to administer sun lotion or
an Aspirin to a student; but could not inform parents
when a student became pregnant and wanted to have an
abortion.
Common Sense lost the will to live as the churches
became businesses; and criminals received better
treatment than their victims.
Common Sense took a beating when you couldn't defend
yourself from a burglar in your own home and the
burglar could sue you for assault.
Common Sense finally gave up the will to live,
after a woman failed to realize that a steaming cup
of coffee was hot. She spilled a little in her lap,
and was promptly awarded a huge settlement.
Common Sense was preceded in death, by his parents,
Truth and Trust
his wife, Discretion
his daughter, Responsibility
his son, Reason.
He is survived by his 4 step brothers;
I Know My Rights
I Want It Now
Someone Else Is To Blame
I'm A Victim
Not many attended his funeral because so few
realized he was gone.

Re: Important Ordinance #1559-Meeting Oct 13-7:00 p.m. & Repub Meeting Schedule
http://www.ci.columbia-heights.mn.us/city_council/agenda_minutes.asp
The city is trying to get RIBS back in another form. They need to get this income back into the 2009 budget and they are determined to do that. They lost the initial $30,000 that they were expecting from income from RIBS and they think they will be able to pick it up this way.
Tim Utz was right, I was wrong, sorry. It is back and sneaking in behind our backs.
Get the word out that we will need people at Monday night's meeting. This is extremely important. It will probably pass at this meeting but we will need people to show up at the next city council meeting as well, October 27th just like we did for RIBS. We will need people to write letters to the editor for Focus and the Northeaster. I have a letter to the editor ready to print on another topic for the 23rd and I am only allowed one letter per month. (Everyone is only allowed one letter per month during political season.)
This is far more important than a BPOU meeting. Please make sure that any Columbia Heights residents that care come to these meetings. We need to be informed and we need to stay on top of this. They will not be giving us a month to rally the troops for the 2nd reading. Get the word out, NOW!
Donna Schmitt
Candidate for Columbia Heights City Council
Sorry for such notice. I just got this tonight (Sunday). The Columbia Heights City Council is at it, again. Apparently, just like their counterparts in Washington, D.C., they have absolutely NO regard for the will of the people (read the forwarded emails from Teri Barber, Donna Schmitt, and Bob Odden). I think we should pack City Hall on the FIRST reading tomorrow night (Monday, October 13th at 7:00 p.m. at City Hall), and let them know, in no uncertain terms, that we are going to vote them out. Bobby Williams needs to go. The same with Gary Peterson. However, no matter HOW you feel about THEM, we need to stop this latest attempt at passing a RIBS-Lite (you KNOW it will only be "Lite" for a little while, until they can start passing more ordinances to expand its scope).
Bob Odden is correct (see below). This is the "divide and conquer" approach (the Federal government is using the same approach in an attempt to resurrect the Real ID in a new form). If they are this bold in an election year, how out of control do you think they'll be once they know that they have a whole term ahead of them in which to pull their shenanigans.
We need to stop this, NOW. Please attend Monday's council meeting if you can, and let them know that WE THE PEOPLE will NOT stand for this. Thanks.
Sincerely,
Gregory K. Sloat
Chair, Precinct 8
Deputy Chair, HD50-A
P.S. For those of you who were planning on attending Monday's BPOU meeting, I agree with Donna Schmitt. This is FAR more important than a BPOU meeting. I'm going to be at City Hall.
The Columbia Heights City Council will meet tomorrow, Monday October 13th at 7pm to discuss the passage of a RIBS lite ordinance that will only affect new rental property. This new RIBS ordinance is the divide and conquer approach. Pick a group most people do not like and grandfather in existing rental so they will not feel a need to fight the ordinance. Police statistics do not show rental properties to be a source of crime for the City. It may be true that a few rental properties do have crime associated with them, but this ordinance does not address existing rental property with criminal activity. Crime statistics are not kept by Columbia Heights so the police can identify areas or addresses where suspects/criminals live. The site for the agenda is: http://www.ci.columbia-heights.mn.us/city_council/agenda_minutes.asp
Let other people know so citizens are not fool into ignoring the importance of this RIBS lite proposal.

Father, you have forsaken your Children and left them to Die in the Wilderness.
The Minnesota GOP has no “Skin in the Game” - probably because it doesn’t look like them. They have neglected certain campaigns of local candidates that are flying under the Republican Party Flag. I can speak for all of them but choose to speak for the candidate that my agency has been hired to work for, Barb Davis White for Congress 2008 Campaign. For whatever reason, race, being a Woman or lack of experience by this organization, the MN GOP, Senator Norm Coleman and the Republican power brokers of in Minnesota have left their children to die in the 2008 campaign season. Barb Davis White can beat Keith Ellison with the help of the people and the organization of the Republican Party. How would the McCain/Palin folks feel about this action in Minnesota – trust me, they will get this story…"Father, you have forsaken your Children and left them to Die in the Wilderness. Forsaken Children rebel until Father shows Unconditional Commitment and Caring. Another open letter to the Minnesota GOP, John McCain, Sara Palin, Senator Norm Coleman, Governor Tim Pawlenty and President George Bush"

An Article from Islamist Watch
Lawful Islamism's Greatest Attack Yet
Have you seen the little old lady who passes out Jehovah's Witness literature in your neighborhood? Some people stop and show interest. Others roll their eyes, and keep walking. But, would you ever expect anyone to threaten her? Call her a racist, and try to get her arrested?
Islamists would. And that is exactly what happened to two English Christian ministers who had the nerve to proselytize on a street corner in a predominantly Muslim immigrant area in the UK in 2007.
Such freedom of speech violations won't be an anomaly if the Organization of the Islamic Conference (OIC), which has a permanent delegation to the United Nations, succeeds in passing a UN resolution against "Defamation of Religion" Noboby in a western country will be able to discuss the socio-political consequences of Muslim immigration, for fear of being labeled "Islamophobic" and slapped with a fine, or even jail time.
Islamists are increasingly using lawful Islamism, or non-violent and legal strategies to spread Sharia, (Islamic law) in the West, encroaching on non-Muslim life everyday. Other examples include:

What would you say if law enforcement and other high-level government officials (your county prosecutor, your sheriff and even your U.S. Senator) were colluding to "threaten" and "intimidate" people who say things they don't like about the policies and actions of a particular political candidate they support?
No... it's NOT urban legend! According to news reports, it's happening, right here and right now in the United States, under the guise of a so-called “Truth Squad!”

An Open Letter to my Friends on the Left
An Open Letter to my Friends on the Left

September 28, 2008
My friends,
In the last week or two, I have
heard frequently from you that the current financial mess has been
caused by the failures of free markets and deregulation. I have heard
from you that the lust after profits, any profits, that is central to
free markets is at the core of our problems. And I have heard from you
that only significant government intervention into financial markets
can cure these problems, perhaps once and for all. I ask of you for the
next few minutes to, in the words of Oliver Cromwell, consider that you
may be mistaken. Consider that both the diagnosis and the cure might be
equally mistaken.
To read the rest of the article and you should, it is worthy of your time. Follow the link:

Letter from Tim Utz, Message from GOPUSA & The NRT PAC.
Dear friends,
First Nadine and I say thank you for supporting our campaign as I seek
office. Running for office is fun and challenging. When I first started this
campaign 3 months ago, no one gave me a chance. Had I concurred with the
majority opinion I never would have started the campaign.
Our thinking outside the traditional political box makes the difference.
Using tools like our big green bus "Wellstone 2 the republican version" or
"the big green bugger" as my police co-workers named it, standing a rush
hour 694 intersections and greeting traffic, hosting town hall meetings are
just several non traditional activities gaining voter interest and support.
As the final days until election, our campaign needs your help more than
ever. This election year is critical to elect solid, principled folks into
state office. I have stepped forward committed to a complete change of
career employment to serve our constitution and the people of Minnesota.
Today I ask you to also step forward and participate in securing my election
to Minnesota State House 50-A on November 4th 2008. Take some time and visit
our updated website at www.timutzforhouse.com, then take a few minutes to
write a check of any amount up to $500.00 (state law maximum contribution)
and mail to CCCR.
In conclusion, our country is in dire need of real leadership. I can provide
that leadership and your support today is a special contribution to changing
politics as usual in Saint Paul.
Thanks again
Tim and Nay Utz
Dear GOPUSA Reader:
Please find below a special message from our sponsor, the National Republican Trust PAC. They have an urgent message about Barack Obama and his wild plan to give driver's licenses to millions of illegal aliens. Read their message below!
Dear Fellow American:
Obamas Plan:
Mohamed Atta Gets His Drivers License

We have just weeks to go before Election Day . . . time is running short for us to avert a major disaster for our country. That disasters name is President Barack Obama.
But this disaster can be averted. Im confident about this even though the slanted media are overstating Obamas inevitability.
But the numbers dont lie.
The latest Zogby poll had John McCain trailing Obama by two points. Just two points!
Despite the full-court press to destroy McCain and Sarah Palin, Katie Courics antics against her, and a daily onslaught of media spin . . . McCain is still within striking distance.
The stakes have never been higher for the future of the country.
We either patriotically turn the country over to a man who has proudly served his nation in war time and peace or we face electing a man who has a checkered past, a man who has counted domestic terrorists among his friends, and a man who spent 15 years in a church where his pastor regularly damned and condemned the United States.
Barack Obama is not simply a risky choice as our next president
He is a dangerous one.
This is why I have taken the helm here at the National Republican Trust Political Action Committee.
Here at the National Republican Trust, we understand our mission. Its simple. It will also drive the left-wing media nuts.
Heres the plan: We will tell the American people the truth about Barack Obama!
Every time John McCain or Sarah Palin tries to tell the truth about Obama, they are painted as mean-spirited and negative.
We here at the National Republican Trust can do the job McCain andPalin cant.
But we need your help. Time is urgent its crunch time.
go here now
https://secure.yourpatriot.com/ou/tnrt/national_republican_trust_g-us/donate.aspx
The latest reports show Obama outspending McCain by 3-to-1 in key states.
Millions of dubious new voters with the help of groups like ACORN are being registered to put the most extreme liberal in the history of the presidency in the White House.
But Ill shock you: thats OK!
Let them spend millions in getting new voters and millions more in TV ads.
I believe truth is more powerful than lies. How powerful?
Well, so powerful, in fact, that I believe one airing of our TV ads will equal at least 10 airings of theirs.
This issue will nail him.
In the closing weeks of this election, Obama is trying to remake himself as a moderate to win over lower-income, white, Democratic and independent voters.
He wants to hide the facts about his record. He is the most extreme liberal ever to be nominated by a major party.
We all know his 100 percent liberal rating in Congress, his support for the TOTAL gun ban in Washington, D.C., his opposition to protecting babies born alive, and his support for tax increases.
But there is one issue almost all Americans agree on: Illegal aliens should not be given drivers licenses.
Help Expose Obama's License Plan Go Here Now
https://secure.yourpatriot.com/ou/tnrt/national_republican_trust_g-us/donate.aspx
Mohamed Atta's Florida
driver's license.
Not after 9/11.
Did you know that Mohamed Atta, the 9/11 ring leader, had a valid Florida drivers license?
Did you know 13 of the 19 hijackers had obtained valid drivers licenses? Armed with these licenses, eight of the hijackers even registered to vote!
Here is the shocking fact: Obama strongly supports giving illegal aliens in America drivers licenses.
He said as much during two Democratic debates earlier this year.
The head of Homeland Security said such thinking was dangerous for national security.
Even Hillary Clinton backed away from Obamas radical drivers license plan.
Obamas position is not a new one: We discovered that Obama has been amajor proponent of drivers licenses for illegals since his days as an Illinois state senator.
We have no doubt that, as president, Obama will also champion this radical plan.
With Osama bin Laden still at large, with al-Qaida promising spectacular attacks on the U.S homeland, with the threat of them using weapons of mass destruction against our cities biological, chemical, and nuclear can we risk putting such a man in the Oval Office?
Doesnt he remember what happened on 9/11? More than 3,000 Americans were murdered.
Doesnt he want to prevent that from ever happening again?
If he supports drivers licenses for illegals, the answer is clear.
We need to inform millions of Americans about this man and his risky judgment.
We are days away from our new TV ad exposing Obamas support for drivers licenses for illegals.
But we need your help. Were already preparing our ad budget in key swing states. The more you can donate to us today, the more we can spend in the coming days.
And dont forget, you can donate a maximum of $5,000. Your spouse can also make a$5,000 donation.
With $5,000 we can saturate a whole city/market in a key swing state for one whole night.
But even $1,000 helps us. With $1,000 we can run 10 TV ads in a key market.
Whatever you can give, $500, $250 or any amount, can make a huge difference.
We at the National Republican Trust PAC appreciate your support and love of our country. We will not fail you. Too much is at stake.

Please see the message below from Sen. John McCain. He has some important information to share with you.
Keep up the fight,

Robert R. Eberle, Ph.D.
President and CEO, GOPUSA
McCain-Palin
My Friends,
During Tuesday's town hall debate in Nashville, I told a retired Navy chief in the audience that everything I ever learned about leadership I learned from a chief petty officer in the Navy. My career in the United States Navy has had a lasting impact on my life and the lessons I learned continue to guide me today.
The naval term "steady strain" has become a constant mantra throughout my life. It references the need to keep lines between ships steady to avoid a sudden jerk or movement that could easily snap the line. We're facing great challenges as a nation and we must keep a "steady strain," because it is not only essential at sea, but in life and in politics.
I strongly believe a "steady strain," made possible by the grassroots organization we've built across the country, is the path to our victory on November 4th.
And with you on board as a member of our team, I know we will win.
Tomorrow marks 25 days until Election Day. The final weeks of this campaign will present new challenges and new opportunities for our team and we will take advantage of this. The next 25 days of the campaign are critical if we want to win.
That's why I'm asking you to make an immediate contribution of $25 or more to fund our efforts to win important races across the country on Election Day.
While we may be weeks away from Election Day, voters have already begun casting early votes and are receiving their absentee ballots in the mail. This is our opportunity to get our message out to the undecided voters.
Our ticket has a plan to strengthen the economy, keep homeowners in their homes, lighten your tax burden and reduce our dependency on foreign oil. The Obama-Biden Democrats will raise your taxes, increase our dependency on foreign oil and take our country down a dangerous path.
Our grassroots team is already hard at work and will only grow. But we need funds for our get-out-the-vote effort. We must raise millions and that's why I'm asking you to give whatever you can give - whether it's $50 or $500 - every dollar is put to work to elect our ticket from top to bottom on Election Day.
Make no mistake; our ticket is the one who will bring reform to Washington. We are the ones with the record of reform and we are the ones with the leadership necessary to guide our country in these uncertain times.
Politics is certainly not a business of calm seas, but rather of rough storms. There are many of us who have weathered these storms before and we know how critical it is to keep a "steady strain" to win on November 4th.
Thank you.
Sincerely,
John McCain
P.S. Tomorrow marks 25 days until Election Day. Our grassroots team of supporters is out in every state in the country working on get-out-the-vote efforts. Your immediate support is needed to fund these efforts. Will you make a generous donation of $25 or more right now?
Because the McCain-Palin Campaign is participating in the presidential public funding system, it may not receive contributions for any candidate's election. However, federal law allows the McCain-Palin Campaign's Compliance Fund to defray legal and accounting compliance costs and preserve the Campaign's public grant for media, mail, phones, and get-out-the-vote programs. Contributions to McCain-Palin Victory 2008 will go to the Compliance Fund, and to participating party committees for Victory 2008 programs.
Paid for by McCain-Palin Victory 2008
A joint fundraising committee by and composed of the Republican National Committee, the Michigan Republican Party, the Missouri Republican State Committee, the Ohio Republican Party State Central & Executive Committee, the Republican Federal Committee of Pennsylvania, and McCain-Palin Compliance Fund.

Dear GOPUSA Activists,
Google -- the multi-billion dollar Internet giant -- wants Congress to spend more than $4 trillion in U.S. taxpayer money on experimental alternative fuels.
You read that right.
Google apparently believes it is now America's leading expert on energy!
Why is Google calling on the United States government to spend $4.4 trillion (that's trillion with a "T", six times as much as is being spent on the bailout) of our hard-earned tax dollars to subsidize renewable energy during these hard economic times?
If they have their way, much of that $4.4 trillion will go directly to subsidize their bottom line. This, with no guarantee that Google's plan will help solve America's energy crisis.
CONTACT YOUR MEMBERS OF CONGRESS TODAY!
Send a free e-mail telling them that you don't want your tax dollars subsidizing Google's business plan.
You see, Google just announced plans for the development of a new electricity grid. And, to advance its interests, Google is conveniently playing on the fears of the American people by suggesting the U.S. abandon all fossil fuels by 2030. A noble goal, indeed. But highly implausible!
The truth is that the U.S. needs an all-of-the-above approach to address the energy crisis. But the reality is that no one source, or few sources, of power can totally replace the fossil fuels on which our nation's economy and the American people rely.
For example, coal currently accounts for about half of our nation's electricity. The renewable energy sources Google is touting -- wind and solar -- generate only a tiny percentage of the energy our nation consumes.
LET CONGRESS KNOW that taxpayers cannot afford to bear additional financial burden while padding the pockets of Google executives.
Gas prices are finally starting to drop as demand has decreased. Congress had the good sense to let its ban on offshore drilling expire. We're finally making some progress on energy. But the Google plan will, frankly, bankrupt the nation.
If wind, solar and other renewable fuels grew by 20 percent a year for the next 22 years (that's a growth rate that would put even Google in the shade) they would still meet only 5% of the world's total energy needs.
Google is just the latest in a line of corporate rent-seekers who want the American taxpayers to subsidize their businesses. If Google wants to spend their own money, that's their business. But they should not be looking to the American taxpayers to foot the bill.
TELL YOUR Members of Congress and other key Administration and Congressional leaders that Google can finance all the renewable-energy power plants
it wants, but it has no right to use taxpayer dollars for its own gain.
Send a free personalized e-mail NOW! Tell your Members of Congress, and other Administration and Congressional leaders, that you want federal energy strategies that put the American people first, not the business interests of Internet billionaires like Google.
CONTACT CONGRESS NOW!
Sincerely,
Jeffrey Mazzella
President

Dear FairTax supporters,
Here are four things you can do to save the nation now:
1. Make a contribution the FairTax cause
2. Tell at least two friends about the FairTax now
3. Post a FairTax widget or banner
4. Check out our 2008 Election Guide
At the heart of the financial meltdown now bedeviling Americans is a simple and profoundly ignored fact that does not require an advanced degree in economics to understand: Our government spends more than it takes in—a lot more.
Sure, regulators could have done a better job but, in truth, politicians at every level have frustrated attempts to blow the whistle on bad loans, bad reporting and bad ethics. Why? Because politicians have been buying our votes with our money—and our future earnings—for a long time. And they don't want any interference from those they are "helping."
It's not just the naked bribes represented by "earmarks" for hometown voters; it is new entitlement programs like the prescription drug benefit, new rules governing the behavior of favored banks and investment houses and a headlong rush to buy the votes of the poor by guaranteeing home ownership, irrespective of one's financial ability to repay a loan. Lest we forget, let's also add up all the special tax breaks for favored contributors that have bloated income tax code rules to 67,500 pages. It's a bi-partisan betrayal of our future cloaked as concern for the common good.
Although our nation was founded on the principle that the citizen was sovereign, government spending increases and more and more taxes taken from our earnings, savings and investments have effectively transformed the American citizen into a serf working another's land for the privilege of taking a fraction of the fruits of his or her own labor.
Just Trust Us
"Trust us," we are told. "We have the best interests of the nation at heart." Citizens are now left with no rational choice to protect savings, college plans, and investments but to accept the new aristocracies' trillion dollar picking of our pockets to prop up institutions that must function. It is not the first time in recent years that we have accepted the grasping hand of the federal government in our wallets to avert a disaster not of our making.
In 1983 a "Blue Ribbon" panel of similar leaders including Alan Greenspan, Daniel Patrick Moynihan and others "saved" Social Security from another big collapse by dramatically raising taxes on earnings of up to $97,500 annually. The promise, then, was that Baby Boomers would actually "pre-fund" their own retirement with astoundingly increased taxes, decades ahead of time. It was also promised as relief to the coming generations so they would be free of crippling taxes. Sounded good.
Lo and behold, the trillions of dollars taken in since then—far exceeding promised payments to senior citizens—have since been spent on everything else. Turns out, that it was nothing more than a new tax levied on those with earnings below $97,500 a year so executive and legislative branch office holders could have more of our money to spend extravagantly on "us" so they could win new terms in office. The FICA payroll tax has become a major factor in keeping the poor that way, retarding new business growth and keeping middle-class earners from moving up. Worst, it also turns out that our children and grandchildren will, in fact, still be burdened an ever-growing and mind-numbing national debt AND unbelievably high FICA taxes to support their parents.
In yet another example of playing fast and loose with politics and our money, 1986 saw Congress reject the tax policies of the Reagan administration and as consequence, the Savings and Loan industry collapsed. Turns out the definition of the tax value of real estate holdings had been changed overnight by the House Ways and Means Committee and banks no longer met liquidity rules. That politically inspired cat fight cost American taxpayers hundreds of billions of dollars. And worse, we didn't learn.
It is past time--way past time--for hometown America to save America from our well-intentioned but criminally incompetent, at best, and cynically corrupted , at worst, national leadership. Do we have a moment to lose? Do we really need any more examples of how the new aristocracy can—and will—destroy the pursuit of happiness?
The reform that can save the nation and restore our identity as citizens who have empowered and limited government (instead of the other way around) is called the FairTax.
Because the FairTax allows every American to take home everything that is earned without any federal withholding, millions of distressed homeowners could actually afford home mortgage payments. The elimination of FICA taxes eliminates the highly regressive Social Security and Medicate tax but the FairTax provides a far broader stream of revenue into these faltering programs. Because the FairTax eliminates all exemptions, gimmicks and loopholes, Congress would be removed from the ability to buy votes with tax giveaways and billionaires pay taxes when they spend money. Because the FairTax makes nearly all federal government taxes entirely transparent, the sovereign citizen can know the score and put the brakes on extravagant new spending. Because the FairTax eliminates the price advantage now enjoyed by overseas producers, American jobs won't be leaving our shores. In fact, because the FairTax makes the USA the most favorable tax environment in the world, we can expect trillions of dollars of investment rushing into the US economy. With the FairTax, our money is ours first and only secondly devoted to government. Savings growth, investments and business decisions are guided by opportunity and real progress instead of tax avoidance tactics.
We've lost more than $2 trillion of our retirement savings in a week's time and our kid's future at college is in serious jeopardy. This didn't happen by accident but at the hands of the very same people who have given the FairTax a cold shoulder. Those candidates and incumbents of either party who would spend our future earnings to stay in office and who reject the FairTax for similarly self-interested reasons now need a strong reminder from voters about whose offices they occupy. Please pay attention to our voting guide and send that message.
Finally, our campaign needs your help—as always. We never have enough to do the job right. Send us a contribution if you can, even in these hard times. It may turn out to be the best investment you ever made. If you can't afford a donation, then help us by recruiting two new supporters. And keep your cards, letters, phone calls, faxes and e-mails going to incumbents and candidates.
The plain fact is, we either now save ourselves from our new aristocracy or suffer the consequences as modern day serfs in a nation never contemplated by our Founding Fathers.
Sincerely,
Ken Hoagland

McCain wants to do what?????
Follow link to read on...I thought one McCain's main themes was to end pork. I thought he said if pork came to his desk he would veto it! I guess the straight talk express derailed in the night and now it is not necessary any more. So much for change, Oh I forgot change is code word for TOTALISM. Just another sad, pitiful fraud in a long line of frauds. Think I am over reacting? You haven't been paying attention!
"He spent the entire debate assailing massive government spending — while his featured proposal of the night was to heap on more massive government spending to pursue home ownership/retention at all costs. If Obama had proposed this, the Right would be screaming bloody murder about this socialist grab to have the Treasury Department renegotiate individual home loans and become chief principal write-down agents for the nation."

From American Solutions...a small excerpt and a link to a video.
This video is a testament to the power and potential of citizen leaders to create positive change. With your help, we ignited the national energy debate and mobilized a movement of pro-American energy supporters.
Lifting the offshore drilling ban is a huge victory, but many among the anti-energy elites have already said they will do everything they can to stop it. You can arm yourselves with the facts about America's energy potential with my new book, Drill Here, Drill Now, Pay Less (also available in audio) as well as Callista and my new DVD, co-produced by Citizens United, called We Have the Power.

Dear Friends,
I am sending an update from Kuwait to ask for more support and to Thank You for the support that has already begun flowing to the Troops in Kuwait via the Red Cross and my office (the ASG –Kuwait Director of Installation Support). We truly appreciate all that you are doing with the packages and Phone Cards. A Special Thanks to Alexandra, Samantha and Katie Fitzgerald (ages 6 & 8) who sold $50 worth of lemonade to send Phone Cards to the Troops. Also, Robbie & Brittany Bergquist, two teenagers who founded “Cell Phone for Soldiers” who sent us 100 Phone Cards. Thanks to Elyse at Eagles Up and Mark at Operation Troop Aid and all the other individuals who have taken time to send their show of support. You are all incredible.
We are getting ready for Christmas over here. We have to start early when we have over 10,000 young men and women who will spend Christmas with us here, away from their families.
As many of you have heard me say many times, the thing that is most important to our Troops is that they know you “Remember Them”. Your cards, packages, letters and notes from school children make a profound positive impact on Troop Morale.
Although I am over here, the Resolve To Win Team back home has developed a great idea to connect supporters to the Troops deployed in the Middle East. They have about 800 “Resolve To Win” T-shirts and hats, which were designed to celebrate our 400 mile March to Washington and rally our Nation to develop the Resolve to Win. Well the march is over, but the Global War on Terror is NOT, and the Troops are still deployed fighting for our Nation’s interests.
The Resolve To Win Team will donate the T-shirts and hats and anyone back home can send a “Resolve to Win” T-shirt or hat to one of the Troops in the Middle East.
HOW COOL WOULD THIS BE to send a Troop a t-shirt or hat with the message that America supports them and has Resolve To Win. We will distribute the shirts and hats in the Christmas packages handed out to the Troops at Christmas time through the Red Cross and USO in Kuwait and Iraq.
Profits generated by your contributions, after shipping and expenses, will be divided between the Veteran’s of Foreign Wars Foundation (which supports active duty military families back home) and the American Legacy Scholarship Fund (the American Legion Scholarship program for children of our military members).
The RTW Team back home will be adding a link to the www.resolvetowin.us website page to enable you to send a T-shirt or hat to one of our deployed Troops. Send your name and add your personal message. We will be taking lots of photographs to post on the website at Christmas time, so you can see your contribution in action.
The t-shirts are available for $10 and hats for $5. Any contribution will be accepted, in $5 increments and your name will be added to the donor list. Let it all hang out and sent 5 or 10 shirts.
I think this is a GREAT IDEA. It is also a GREAT MESSAGE TO SEND TO THE TROOPS and a great way to send them that message.
Thank you for your continued support.

We are supporting America's Finest. They deserve our very best effort and continual improvement of the level of support we provide. Anything less is unacceptable.
Our ability to support our Troops is only limited by our creativity and our willingness to work.
