Help build the 2008 Republican Party Platform

Help build the 2008 Republican Party Platform

This November will be a time of change. Your vote on November 4 will not only help decide the next President, but it will help decide who is representing you at every level of government, from national to local.

There is more you can do to shape your representation. Next month at the Republican convention, the official GOP platform will be entirely rewritten.

I would like to invite you to take advantage of the historic opportunity to participate in building this platform.

Once a week for the next 4 weeks, we will be posting a new issue at MikeConaway.com/platform, and we will be asking you to suggest solutions to pressing issues that face our nation and party.

Each week, I will give your suggestions to my colleague and the co-chair of the GOP Platform Committee, Rep. Kevin McCarthy (R-CA). He, along with Sen. Richard Burr (R-NC), will be leading the platform committee at the Republican National Convention in Minneapolis next month, where they will develop the GOP’s 2008 platform.

We refuse to be silenced, and we refuse to stop working for the American people. To that end, our House Republican leaders sent a letter to Speaker Pelosi this afternoon asking her to reconvene Congress so that the energy crisis can be effectively dealt with. She declined to do so.

The first topic I would like your input on is Energy – an issue I am working on at the Capitol right now alongside my fellow Republican Representatives, despite the fact that we are officially on a five-week, Democrat-mandated recess.

Don’t miss out on this historic opportunity to participate in building the platform the Republican Party will be running and governing on for the next several years. Go to MikeConaway.com/platform today, and help write the 2008 GOP platform.

Sincerely,

Mike Conaway
Congressman, TX-11
