Anoka Elections, Chalk Full Of Opportunity
Posted by Andy on July 16th, 2008
ABC Newspapers has a story about the filings for offices in Anoka County. Every County and Legislative race will be a battle, not to mention a few primary races to make it extra exciting.
Read the rest, then get out there and get to work.
The Anoka Board is a 5 to 2 liberal tax and spend mecca. 3 of the seats are up this year and all of them have primary battles. Rhonda S. is one of the good gals on the Board and needs your help to get reelected. She voted against the Transit Tax increase and has long been a voice of reason, common sense, and fiscal responsibility.
In the House races, there is a Primary battle in 48B. That’s the District of Jim ‘DFL tax and spend agenda’ (En)Abler. He must be sent to the lobbyist pool for his treacherous vote to raise taxes $6.6 billion this year.
Filings in the other House districts in the ABC Newspapers coverage areas include:
• District 17A: incumbent Rob Eastlund, R, Isanti; Jim Godfrey, DFL, Cambridge. The district includes the city of St. Francis.
• District 47A: Troy Buchholz, R, Champlin; incumbent Denise Dittrich, DFL, Champlin. The district includes parts of Coon Rapids.
• District 47B: incumbent Melissa Hortman, DFL, Brooklyn Park; Andrew Reinhardt, R, Brooklyn Park. The district includes parts of Coon Rapids.
• District 48A: incumbent Tom Hackbarth, R, Cedar; Sharon Lawrence, DFL, East Bethel.
• District 49A: Ted Butler, DFL, Andover; Peggy Scott, R, Andover. Incumbent Chris DeLaForest, R, is not seeking re-election.
• District 49B: Jake Cimenski, R, Coon Rapids; Jerry Newton, DFL, Coon Rapids. Incumbent Kathy Tingelstad, R, is not running for another term.
• District 51A: Shawn Hamilton, DFL, Spring Lake Park; Tim Sanders, R, Blaine. DFL incumbent Scott Kranz is not seeking re-election.
• District 51B: Dave Balcom, Fridley, R; incumbent Tom Tillberry, DFL, Fridley. The district covers parts of Blaine.
The DFL’s out of control tax and spend agenda from the last session have left them on defense in the eyes of voters. While we have all been out in the real world dealing with higher costs, higher taxes, and less freedom they were in dream land thinking the taxpayers and businesses of this state were ATMs.
The opportunity for accountability is at hand. It is up to us all who believe Government is not the answer, but rather the problem, to do something. That something is to help send a message by working our rears off and getting good solid conservatives elected instead of the tax and spend liberals.
We can win back the Minnesota house if we all work hard enough. We have good candidates. We have the message of fiscal responsibility and common sense solutions above special interest paybacks. Democrats have to run on the message of tax and spend, do nothing to solve problems, and ration or outright ban freedom in November.
I hope to see my fellow freedom loving common sense conservatives at the Anoka County Fair next week where they can sign up and make a real difference this year. We can win if we all put our minds and time into it.
Change We Can Work For, Oh yes we can!!!
