I know I needed this reminder, since Sears isn't always my first choice.

It's amazing when you think of how long the war has lasted and Sears hasn't withdrawn from their commitment. Could we each buy at least one thing at Sears this year?

How does Sears treat its employees who are serving in our military?

By law, they are required to hold their jobs open and available, but

nothing more. Usually, people take a big pay cut and lose benefits

as a result of being in active duty.

Sears is voluntarily paying the difference in salaries and maintaining

all benefits, including medical insurance and bonus programs, for all

employees who are serving.  

I submit that Sears is an exemplary corporate citizen and should be recognized for its contribution. I suggest we all shop at Sears at

least once.

Be sure to find a manager to tell them why we are there so the

company gets the positive reinforcement & feedback it well deserves.

I decided to check this before I sent it forward. So I sent the following e-mail to the Sears Customer Service Department: 

I received this e-mail and I would like to know if it is true. If it is, the

Internet may have just become one very good source of advertisement

for your company. I know I would go out of my way to buy products

from Sears instead of another store for a like item, even if it's cheaper

at that store. 

This is their answer to my e-mail: 

Dear  Customer: 
Thank  you for contacting Sears. The information is factual. We

appreciate your positive feedback.  
Sears regards service to our country as one of greatest sacrifices

our men and women can make. This is the "least" we can do for them.

We are happy to do our part to lessen the burden they bear at this time.

Columbine father-----12 years later...

Guess our national leaders didn't expect this, hmm? On Thursday, Darrell Scott, the father of Rachel Scott, a victim of the Columbine High School shootings in Littleton , Colorado , was invited to address the House Judiciary Committee's subcommittee. What he said to our national leaders during this special session of Congress was painfully truthful. 
  They were not prepared for what he was to say, nor was it received well. It needs to be heard by every parent, every teacher, every politician, every sociologist, every psychologist, and every so-called expert! These courageous words spoken by Darrell Scott are powerful, penetrating, and deeply personal. There is no doubt that God sent this man as a voice crying in the wilderness.. The following is a portion of the transcript:
 Since the dawn of creation there has been both good & evil in the hearts of men and women. We all contain the seeds of kindness or the seeds of violence. The death of my wonderful daughter, Rachel Joy Scott, and the deaths of that heroic teacher, and the other eleven children who died must not be in vain. Their blood cries out for answers. 
  The first recorded act of violence was when Cain slew his brother Abel out in the field. The villain was not the club he used.. Neither was it the NCA, the National Club Association. The true killer was Cain, and the reason for the murder could only be found in Cain's heart. 
 In the days that followed the Columbine tragedy, I was amazed at how quickly fingers began to be pointed at groups such as the NRA. I am not a member of the NRA. I am not a hunter. I do not even own a gun. I am not here to represent or defend the NRA - because I don't believe that they are responsible for my daughter's death. Therefore I do not believe that they need to be defended. If I believed they had anything to do with Rachel's murder I would be their strongest opponent. 
  I am here today to declare that Columbine was not just a tragedy -- it was a spiritual event that should be forcing us to look at where the real blame lies! Much of the blame lies here in this room. Much of the blame lies behind the pointing fingers of the accusers themselves. I wrote a poem just four nights ago that expresses my feelings best.

 Your laws ignore our deepest needs,  Your words are empty air.  You've stripped away our heritage,  You've outlawed simple prayer.  Now gunshots fill our classrooms,  And precious children die.  You seek for answers everywhere,  And ask the question "Why?"  You regulate restrictive laws,  Through legislative creed.  And yet you fail to understand,  That God is what we need! 

  Men and women are three-part beings. We all consist of body, mind, and spirit. When we refuse to acknowledge a third part of our make-up, we create a void that allows evil, prejudice, and hatred to rush in and wreak havoc. Spiritual presences were present within our educational  systems for most of our nation's history. Many of our major colleges began as theological seminaries. This is a historical fact. What has happened to us as a nation? We have refused to honor God, and in so doing, we open the doors to hatred and violence. And when something as terrible as Columbine's tragedy occurs -- politicians immediately look for a scapegoat such as the NRA. They immediately seek to pass more restrictive laws that contribute to erode away our personal and private liberties. We do not need more restrictive laws. Eric and Dylan would not have been stopped by metal detectors. No amount of gun laws can stop someone who spends months planning this type of massacre. The real villain lies within our own hearts. 
 As my son Craig lay under that table in the school library and saw his two friends murdered before his very eyes, he did not hesitate to pray in school. I defy any law or politician to deny him that right! I challenge every young person in America , and around the world, to realize that on April 20, 1999, at Columbine High School prayer was brought back to our schools. Do not let the many prayers offered by those students be in vain. Dare to move into the new millennium with a sacred disregard for legislation that violates your God-given right to communicate with Him. To those of you who would point your finger at the NRA -- I give to you a sincere challenge.. Dare to examine your own

heart before casting the first stone!  My daughter's death will not be in vain! The young people of this country will not

allow that to happen!"

Dealing With Muslims  

Two Black Americans were elected to congress this cycle, and both are Republican.   Col. West is from southern  Florida .   He won in a walk.

This new Congressman was an extremely popular commander in  Iraq .  He was forced to retire because during an intense combat action a few of his men were captured.   At the same time his men captured one of the guys who were with the Iraqis who captured his men.

Knowing that time was crucial and his interrogators were not getting anywhere with the prisoner, Col. West took matters into his own hands.  He burst into the room and demanded thru an interpreter that the prisoner tell him where his men were being taken.  The prisoner refused so Col. West took out his pistol and placed it into the prisoner's crotch and fired.   Then the  Col. told the prisoner that the next shot would not miss.  So the prisoner said he would show where the American service members were being taken.  The Americans were rescued.  Someone filed a report on incorrect handling of prisoners.  Col. West was forced to retire.  Col. West was just elected in November 2010 to Congress from  Florida .   During the elections he was part of a panel on how to handle or how to relate to Muslims.   You will see his answer here explaining in just over a minute the truth about Islam.  Please watch and if you agree, please forward it to your friends; if you disagree, you're an idiot.  Hit the delete button.

The Wedding - get your tissues out

An unbelievable story of unselfishness and courage under the most

impossible situation with an inevitable outcome.

How's this story for a reminder that "We don't

know we're alive".

Her name is Katie Kirkpatrick, 21 yrs old. Next to

her is her fiancé, Nick, 23. This picture was taken

prior to their wedding January 11th, 2005.  Katie

has terminal cancer and spends hours in chemotherapy. Here Nick awaits while she

finishes one of the sessions... Even in pain and dealing with her organs shutting down, with the help of morphine, Katie took care

of every single part of the wedding planning.  Her dress had to be adjusted several times due to Katie 's constant weight loss.

An expected guest was her oxygen tank. Katie

had to use it during the ceremony and reception.

The other couple in this picture is Nick's parents,

very emotional with the wedding and to see their

son marrying the girl he fell in love when he was

an adolescent. Katie, in a wheel chair listening to her husband

and friends singing to her. In the middle of the party, Katie had to rest for a

bit and catch her breath. The pain does not allow

her to stand for long period of time. Katie died 5 days after her wedding. To see a

fragile woman dress as bride with a beautiful

smile makes you think... Happiness is always

there within reach, no matter how long it lasts. 

Let's enjoy life and don't live a complicated life.  

Life is too short.
Work as if it was your first day.  Forgive as soon

as possible.
Love without boundaries.  Laugh without control

and never stop smiling  Please pray for those

suffering from cancer.

My tax return was returned again.

 Sent to me by the G-man. I am sure this has been floating around the web for a while. Don't know if it is for real, as far as someone actually putting this on their return, but it is true none the less.



I thought it was at least a partially correct answer...although, I may have underestimated on all - but the last one.

The IRS sent my Tax Return back AGAIN, because of my response to the question: "List all dependents?"

I replied:

"12 million illegal immigrants;
"3 million crack heads;
"42 million unemployable people on food stamps,
"2 million criminals in over 243 prisons;
"Half of Mexico ; and
"535 fools in the U.S. House and Senate.”

Apparently this was not an acceptable answer.

For those who are listening to the liberals propagating the fallacy that everything is "Bush's Fault", think about this:
January 3rd, 2007, the day the Democrats took over the Senate and the Congress:
The DOW Jones closed at 12,621.77
The GDP for the previous quarter was 3.5%
The Unemployment rate was 4.6%
George Bush's Economic policies SET A RECORD of 52 STRAIGHT MONTHS of JOB CREATION!

Remember that day...
January 3rd, 2007 was the day that Barney Frank took over the House Financial Services Committee and Chris Dodd took over the Senate Banking Committee.
The economic meltdown that happened 15 months later was in what part of the economy?
BANKING AND FINANCIAL SERVICES!
THANK YOU DEMOCRATS (especially Barney Frank) for taking us from 13,000 DOW, 3.5 GDP and 4.6% Unemployment...to this CRISIS by (among MANY other things) dumping 5-6 TRILLION Dollars of toxic loans on the economy from YOUR Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac FIASCOES!

(BTW: Bush asked Congress 17 TIMES to stop Fannie & Freddie -starting in 2001 because it was financially risky for the US economy). Barney Frank blocked it and called it a "Chicken Little Philosophy" (and the sky did fall!)
And who took the THIRD highest pay-off from Fannie Mae AND Freddie Mac? OBAMA

And who fought against reform of Fannie and Freddie?
OBAMA and the Democrat Congress, especially Barney Frank!!!!

So when someone tries to blame Bush...

Bush may have been in the car but the Democrats were in charge of the gas pedal and steering wheel they were driving the economy into the ditch.
Budgets do not come from the White House. They come from Congress and the party that controlled Congress since January 2007 is the Democratic Party.
Furthermore, the Democrats controlled the budget process for 2008 & 2009 as well as 2010 & 2011.

In that first year, they had to contend with George Bush, which caused them to compromise on spending, when Bush somewhat belatedly got tough on spending increases.

For 2009 though, Nancy Pelosi & Harry Reid bypassed George Bush entirely, passing continuing resolutions to keep government running until Barack Obama could take office. At that time, they passed a massive omnibus spending bill to complete the 2009 budget.

And where was Barack Obama during this time? He was a member of that very Congress that passed all of these massive spending bills, and he signed the omnibus bill as President to complete 2009. Let's remember what the deficits looked like during that period:
If the Democrats inherited any deficit, it was the 2007 deficit, the last of the Republican budgets. That deficit was the lowest in five years, and the fourth straight decline in deficit spending. After that, Democrats in Congress took control of spending, and that includes Barack Obama, who voted for the budgets.

If Obama inherited anything, he inherited it from himself.
In a nutshell, what Obama is saying is "I inherited a deficit that I voted for,
And then I voted to expand that deficit four-fold since January 20th."
There is no way this will be widely publicized, unless each of us sends it on!

Recently,  the City of Dallas , Texas , passed an  ordinance  stating that if
a driver  is  pulled over by law enforcement and is not able to  provide
proof of  insurance,  the car is towed.

To retrieve  the car after being  impounded, they must show  proof of
insurance  to have  the car released. This has made it easy for the City of 
Dallas to  remove uninsured  cars.

Shortly after the "No  Insurance"  ordinance was passed, the Dallas impound
lots began  to fill up  and were full after only nine days.
80 + % of the  impounded  cars were driven by  illegals.

Not only must they  provide  proof of insurance to have their car  released,
they have  to pay  for the cost of the tow, a $350 fine, and $20 for every 
day their  car is kept in the  lot.

Accident rates have gone  down   47%and... Dallas ' solution gets  uninsured
drivers  off the  road WITHOUT making them show proof of   nationality.

Wonder how the ACLU  or the Justice Department  will get around this  one.

Just brings tears to  my  eyes.

"Sure," said the farmer.  And with that he let out a whistle. "Here, Dolly!" he called. Out from the doghouse and down the ramp ran Dolly followed by four little balls of fur. The little boy pressed his face against the chain link fence. His eyes danced with delight. As the dogs made their way to the fence, the little boy noticed something else stirring inside the doghouse.Slowly another little ball appeared, this one noticeably smaller.Down the ramp it slid.Then in a somewhat awkward manner, the little pup began hobbling toward the others, doing its best to catch up..."I want that one," the little boy said, pointing to the runt. The farmer knelt down at the boy's side and said,"Son, you don't want that puppy.He will never be able to run and play with you like these other dogs would."With that the little boy stepped back from the fence,  reached down, and began rolling up one leg of his trousers.In doing so he revealed a steel brace running down both sides of his leg attaching itself to a specially made shoe. Looking back up at the farmer, he said, "You see sir, I don't run too well myself, and he will need someone who understands." With tears in his eyes, the farmer reached down and picked up the little pup. Holding it carefully he handed it to the little boy."How much?" asked the little boy... "No charge," answered the farmer, "There's no charge for love."

The world is fullof people who need someone who understands.
