Friends:
We are pleased to announce that the “Private Property Rights Protection Act of 2011” has been introduced by Representatives Sensenbrenner and Waters. H.R. 1433 would provide federal protection for the property rights of all Americans by stripping federal funding from local agencies that abuse eminent domain for private development. This will discourage cities from tearing apart communities for their wealthy developer friends. You can read more about the legislation here.
As you might remember, this bill passed the House of Representatives in 2005 by an overwhelming vote of 376-38, but the Senate never voted on the bill.
It’s time to prepare for the battle before us! Would you help us recruit fellow activists that are passionate about property rights? Simply ask your friends and family to sign up here. We’ll send them a FREE Castle Coalition pen and sticker, and if they let us know you referred them, we’ll send YOU this FREE t-shirt!
Thank you for your dedication to eminent domain reform! Together we will ensure the property rights of all Americans are protected.
Best,
Christina Walsh
