A Call to Participate
A Call to Participate 1/23/11
Dear Supporters, Times like these require extraordinary efforts of "We the People" to step up and rebuff unconstitutional government. We ask your consideration for this call to participate.
|
The Columbia Heights School board continues being bogged down in political power struggle over the election of a new School board chairman. For multiple decades a DFL controlled board continually elected liberal political DFL activists to the position of chairman. With the November 2010 elections the Columbia Heights School board is evenly politically polarized having 3 members liberal and 3 members conservative. The law requires the board to elect a chairman at the first School board meeting in January 2011. Because of the new board makeup, the chairman position was not elected even after 3 consecutive votes. Again during the next School board meeting the board could not elect a new chairman having a 3 to 3 vote for the two candidates. On Tuesday January 25, 2011 at 7:00pm the School board will hold their regular meeting at the Education Center next to the High School on 49th street just east of Central Avenue in Columbia Heights. The first order of the meeting is again to hold a vote for School board chairman. The board is required to hold up to 3 separate votes for the position of chairman. Should the board not choose a new chairman another vote occurs at the next School board meeting. On and on this process continues until the gridlock is broken. For various reasons CCCR-Education supports Ted Landwher for the School board chairman; among the reasons are his legal background, support of and member in the community for decades, is a conservative member of the School board, has served as a Columbia Heights School board member in the past, and clearly represents our best chance for some Constitutional leadership in the Columbia Heights education system.
CCCR-Education is asking for your response to our "Call to Participate" on Tuesday evening. Please clear a couple hours from your schedule Tuesday evening 1/25/11 and attend the Columbia Heights School board meeting. We will have a couple speakers to address the board demanding they set politics aside and vote Ted Landwher as School board chairman and get on with the business of Constitutional education in Columbia Heights.
The more people willing to attend this critical meeting the better; the board needs to know "We the People" are done having non Constitutional government run unchecked especially in Columbia Heights education.
Thanks in advance for your participation and pleas invite other Constitutional minded citizens.

50 Fray Meeting 1/17/11
Hi Everyone, 01/07/2011
Just a reminder we have a 50 Fray discussion group meeting on Monday January 17, location is Moe’s Restaurant in Mounds View. The address is 2400 Highway 10. The time is 7:00pm.
Our featured speaker is (R) Senator Pam Wolf; she will be taking questions about the 2011 legislative session as well as talking about her successful campaign for her Senate seat…
This should be very interesting as the republicans now control both the senate and the house. I’m sure Pam can give us a little insight on our new Governor Dayton.
We will be meeting down stairs in the conference room and food and beverages will be available as desired…Please give us an idea if you can make it, so Moe’s can staff our gathering properly…
Thank you,
Greg Meyers
Vice-chair 50b Bpou

- Parents are the primary authority in the education and rearing of children.
- Accessible, nonpublic education without government interference is essential to a healthy education system.
- Good education is most importantly about acquiring knowledge and understanding, not about inculcating government-approved values and beliefs.
- Good education in the United States promotes the American Creed (Principles of Liberty) as defined by the Declaration of Independence and U.S. Constitution.
- Good education accurately teaches the political heritage of western civilization, including the Judeo-Christian worldview, as America's historical foundation.
- Good education teaches a thorough understanding of the world in which we live, but also reinforces the sovereignty of the United States and American exceptionalism.
- Good education understands that truth exists, and that it can be discovered, understood, and taught.
- The constitutional authority over education is reserved to the individual states and citizens, not to the federal government. The constitutional limit on federal powers is an essential part of the separation of powers that protects the freedom of the American people.
- Early childhood care from birth to five is best determined by the child's parents. Establishing ideological and political child-outcomes and universal preschool is a dangerous expansion of government power over families.
- Universal or routine psychological screening of students and young children in schools and childcare settings is a usurpation of the authority of parents and a dangerous violation of personal privacy

Govt. Mandates
From: Steve Drazkowski A group of GOP members and staff from the House and Senate have been meeting for the purpose of assembling a list of local government (cities, counties, schools) mandates that are ripe for elimination this session. Many of the local government associations have put together lists and shared them with us, but we would like to gain additional ideas that any members have.
If you have any particular local government mandate that you believe needs to be eliminated, please share the idea with us. You can get them to Craig Stone by emailing a short description to him at Craig.Stone@house.mnThanks for any help that you can provide and I am looking forward as we begin our very important work next week. Happy New Year! Steve Drazkowski State Representative, District 28B

19 Facts About The De Industrialization Of America That Will Blow Your Mind
district50ablog.blogspot.com
Thanks G-man for another quality contribution
The United States are rapidly becoming the very first "post-industrial" nation on the globe. All great economic empires eventually become fat and lazy and squander the great wealth that their forefathers have left them, but the pace at which America is accomplishing this is absolutely amazing. It was America that was at the forefront of the industrial revolution. It was America that showed the world how to mass produce everything from automobiles to televisions to airplanes. It was the great American manufacturing base that crushed Germany and Japan in World War II.
But now we are witnessing the de industrialization of America . Tens of thousands of factories have left the United States in the past decade alone. Millions upon millions of manufacturing jobs have been lost in the same time period. The United States have become a nation that consumes everything in sight and yet produces increasingly little. Do you know what our biggest export is today? Waste paper. Yes, trash is the number one thing that we ship out to the rest of the world as we voraciously blow our money on whatever the rest of the world wants to sell to us. The United States have become bloated and spoiled and our economy is now just a shadow of what it once was. Once upon a time America could literally out produce the rest of the world combined. Today that is no longer true, but Americans sure do consume more than anyone else in the world. If the de industrialization of America continues at this current pace, what possible kind of a future are we going to be leaving to our children?
Any great nation throughout history has been great at making things. So if the United States continues to allow its manufacturing base to erode at a staggering pace how in the world can the U.S. continue to consider itself to be a great nation? We have created the biggest debt bubble in the history of the world in an effort to maintain a very high standard of living, but the current state of affairs is not anywhere close to sustainable. Every single month America goes into more debt and every single month America gets poorer.
So what happens when the debt bubble pops?
The de industrialization of the United States should be a top concern for every man, woman and child in the country. But sadly, most Americans do not have any idea what is going on around them .
For people like that, take this article and print it out and hand it to them. Perhaps what they will read below will shock them badly enough to awaken them from their slumber.
The following are 19 facts about the de industrialization of America that will blow your mind....
#1 The United States has lost approximately 42,400 factories since 2001. About 75 percent of those factories employed over 500 people when they were still in operation.
#2 Dell Inc., one of America ’S largest manufacturers of computers, has announced plans to dramatically expand its operations in China with an investment of over $100 billion over the next decade.
#3 Dell has announced that it will be closing its last large U.S. manufacturing facility in Winston-Salem , North Carolina in November. Approximately 900 jobs will be lost.
#4 In 2008, 1.2 billion cell phones were sold worldwide. So how many of them were manufactured inside the United States ? Zero.
#5 According to a new study conducted by the Economic Policy Institute, if the U.S. trade deficit with China continues to increase at its current rate, the U.S. economy will lose over half a million jobs this year alone.
#6 As of the end of July, the U.S. trade deficit with China had risen 18 percent compared to the same time period a year ago.
#7 The United States has lost a total of about 5.5 million manufacturing jobs since October 2000.
#8 According to Tax Notes, between 1999 and 2008 employment at the foreign affiliates of U.S. parent companies increased an astounding 30 percent to 10.1 million. During that exact same time period, U.S. employment at American multinational corporations declined 8 percent to 21.1 million.
#9 In 1959, manufacturing represented 28 percent of U.S. economic output. In 2008, it represented 11.5 percent.
#10 Ford Motor Company recently announced the closure of a factory that produces the Ford Ranger in St. Paul , Minnesota . Approximately 750 good paying middle class jobs are going to be lost because making Ford Rangers in Minnesota does not fit in with Ford's new "global" manufacturing strategy.
#11 As of the end of 2009, less than 12 million Americans worked in manufacturing. The last time less than 12 million Americans were employed in manufacturing was in 1941.
#12 In the United States today, consumption accounts for 70 percent of GDP. Of this 70 percent, over half is spent on services.
#13 The United States has lost a whopping 32 percent of its manufacturing jobs since the year 2000.
#14 In 2001, the United States ranked fourth in the world in per capita broadband Internet use. Today it ranks 15 th.
#15 Manufacturing employment in the U.S. computer industry is actually lower in 2010 than it was in 1975.
#16 Printed circuit boards are used in tens of thousands of different products. Asia now produces 84 percent of them worldwide.
#17 The United States spends approximately $3.90 on Chinese goods for every $1 that the Chinese spend on goods from the United States .
#18 One prominent economist is projecting that the Chinese economy will be three times larger than the U.S. economy by the year 2040.
#19 The U.S. Census Bureau says that 43.6 million Americans are now living in poverty and according to them that is the highest number of poor Americans in the 51 years that records have been kept.
So how many tens of thousands more factories do we need to lose before we do something about it?
How many millions more Americans are going to become unemployed before we all admit that we have a very, very serious problem on our hands?
How many more trillions of dollars are going to leave the country before we realize that we are losing wealth at a pace that is killing our economy?
How many once great manufacturing cities are going to become rotting war zones like Detroit before we understand that we are committing national economic suicide?
The de industrialization of America is a national crisis. It needs to be treated like one.
America is in deep, deep trouble folks. It is time to wake up district50ablog.blogspot.com

History Lesson on Your Social Security Card
district50ablog.blogspot.com
Thanks G-man for another elucidating contribution.
Just in case some of you young whippersnappers (& some older ones) didn't know this. It's easy to check out, if you don't believe it. Be sure and show it to your family and friends. They need a little history lesson on what's what and it doesn't matter whether you are Democrat or Republican. Facts are Facts.
Social Security Cards up until the 1980s expressly stated the number and card were not to be used for identification purposes. Since nearly everyone in the United States now has a number, it became convenient to use it anyway and the message,NOT FOR IDENTIFICATION,was removed.
An old Social Security card with the "NOT FOR IDENTIFICATION" message.
Our Social Security
Franklin Roosevelt, a Democrat, introduced the Social
Security (FICA) Program. He promised:
1.) That participation in the Program would be
Completely voluntary,
No longer Voluntary
2.) That the participants would only have to pay
1% of the first $1,400 of their annual
Incomes into the Program,
Now 7.65%
on the first $90,000
3.) That the money the participants elected to put
into the Program would be deductible from
their income for tax purposes each year,
No longer tax deductible
4.) That the money the participants put into the
independent 'Trust Fund' rather than into the
general operating fund, and therefore, would
only be used to fund the Social Security
Retirement Program, and no other
Government program, and,
Under Johnson the money was moved to
The General Fund and Spent
5.) That the annuity payments to the retirees would never be taxed as income.
Under Clinton & Gore
Up to 85% of your Social Security can be Taxed
Since many of us have paid into FICA for years and are
now receiving a Social Security check every month --
and then finding that we are getting taxed on 85% of
the money we paid to the Federal government to 'put
away' -- you may be interested in the following:
------------ --------- --------- --------- --------- --------- ----
Q: Which Political Party took Social Security from the
independent 'Trust Fund' and put it into the
general fund so that Congress could spend it?
A: It was Lyndon Johnson and the democratically
controlled House and Senate.
------------ --------- --------- --------- --------- --------- --------- --
Q: Which Political Party eliminated the income tax
deduction for Social Security (FICA) withholding?
A: The Democratic Party.
------------ --------- --------- --------- --------- --------- --------- -----
Q: Which Political Party started taxing Social
Security annuities?
A: The Democratic Party, with Al Gore casting the
'tie-breaking' deciding vote as President of the
Senate, while he was Vice President of the US
------------ --------- --------- --------- --------- --------- --------- -
Q: Which Political Party decided to start
giving annuity payments to immigrants?
AND MY FAVORITE:
A: That's right!
Jimmy Carter and the Democratic Party.
Immigrants moved into this country, and at age 65,
began to receive Social Security payments! The
Democratic Party gave these payments to them,
even though they never paid a dime into it!
------------ -- ------------ --------- ----- ------------ --------- ---------
Then, after violating the original contract (FICA),
the Democrats turn around and tell you that the Republicans want to take your Social Security away!
And the worst part about it is uninformed citizens believe it!
If enough people receive this, maybe a seed of
awareness will be planted and maybe changes will
evolve. Maybe not, some Democrats are awfully
sure of what isn't so.
But it's worth a try. How many people will YOU send this to?
Actions speak louder than bumper stickers.
