http://district50ablog.blogspot.com/ "Monday night there was discussion about the surcharge that the city is paying to the MET Council for non-sewage flow in the the sewage system in district 2 of the city. This ends up at 37th and 5th street collection. This is an area between 5th Street and Jefferson and 42nd to 37th. This surcharge is $81,900 a year. This surcharge can be offset by doing such things as the sump pump disconnect program which removed some clear water from the sewage system. The City of Columbia Heights participated in this program and it seemed to be quite successful." To read more click link below.
